Ljomalind Local Market is a regional market that offers great variation of handcrafted products and delicatessen from West Iceland. The market is a co-op and run by fifteen women that take turns volunteering at the market and in addition all produce products and sell at Ljomalind. Other sellers sell are local individuals that produce foods or handcrafted products and sell in commission. The Local Market aims to provide a local store that only regional products can be found. All products are seasonal and few are made of each idem so the market changes week from week. Most producers only sell at Ljomalind Local Market so items are unique and special for West Iceland region. Open daily year-round. From May - October from 10-18 and winter opening from October - may is every day from 12-17.

This is a nice little shop in Bogarnes. Not really a farmers market, but they do have some local meats and produce. The main reason to go here is to see all the locally made artisan items ranging from beautiful hand knit wool sweaters to...More

The produce here is decent, but there is not too much to buy. They sell local meat and dairy products that are good quality and priced in the normal range for Iceland.

Researched this market before our trip to Iceland. Was very impressed with the authentic products offered. It is a small shop in a strip center so not your "classic" farmers market. However, they offer all sorts of genuine Icelandic goods (jams, woolen goods, other foods,...More

It is definitely worth stopping by while travelling in Iceland. If you want to buy an original souvenir from Iceland (and not the plastic souvenir or sweaters made in China), have a look there! Everything is handcraft so you know whom you are buying from....More

Small shop but jam packed with a huge variety of handicrafts plus farm produce. From Icelandic sweaters to a slab of lamb! Worth a visit as it is one of the few shops of its kind in West Iceland which is open in winter.

Somewhat interesting to see the handmade products, but don't go out of your way to see this shop. We spent under 10 minutes there.
