I went to this park very excited to see the sheep. They should make it clear, there are none until the weather is warmer. Most of the time they come down in later April. Great baseball park and awesome views of Lake Mead.
Hemenway Valley Park is popular for the local Desert Big Horn Sheep that visit...they are very cool to see..
Hemenway Amenities: There's one shaded picnic/dining area but plenty of grass fields. The playground and swings for the kids will keep them busy for awhile. There's...More
We went here after our rafting trip down the Colorado River, on the recommendation of our guide. She pretty much guaranteed we would see Bighorn Sheep and she was right. Looks like a nice family park to enjoy, but all I wanted was a photo...More
What a great little park -- one of the most modern play areas I've been to for kids. I wish I was a kid again... The herd of bighorn sheep that wander the grounds only adds to the tranquility of this place right in the...More
We stopped by this Hemenway Park and were skeptical, but we saw real bighorn sheeps. There were not many people, acutally more bighorn sheeps than humans at this particular time. It was in the afternoon during summer. I believe we were here around 3PM. They...More
We came here after the Santa Train ride. The kids packed their lunches. We spread out a tablecloth to avoid the bighorn sheep droppings. The playground was built for kids. The grandson's remarks were "Better than eating at a restaurant. " 37 bighorns strolled around...More

I live a couple blocks from the park. The sheep wander around several neighborhoods to munch on various plants, shrubs, etc.
As I mentioned, they are wild animals. They are not contained or fenced in a area. It is a matter or luck to see these magnificent animals.
Please remember to enjoy them, take pictures and cause them no harm.
