Choo Choo Trains!
Oct 2021
It was nice to look though the museum and take some silly pics, you are able to enter some of the trains and see how they look inside. The kids sure will love it!

Really Cool

It was fun to wander up close to so many trains. We enjoyed the open air museum while waiting for our train ride.

Awesome history while waiting for the rail ride.
Dec 2020
Such cool history and nicely displayed. I wish we could go inside, but that is a no go with Covid. So next time I visit Boulder City I will go back again to see the inside of the trains. Decorated very nicely for Christmas too! Way to go!

fun on the rails
Mar 2020
We had a fun time pedaling down the tracks in our two seater railbike. There are 4 seaters, too.For the most part it's slightly downhill and you can pedal slowly. The last part is slightly uphill and pedaling is tougher, especially against the wind. It started to drizzle and the people in charge gave us clear plastic ponchos. The ride back was relaxing on an old steam engine with an outside and inside passenger cars.

Ride the Rails and see the museum
Jan 2020
Looking for a fun, unique activity? Ride the rails - make a reservation! We did a morning ride and then spent the rest of the day in Boulder City. An evening ride would be nice as well.

Came for the Santa Train
Dec 2019
Came for the Santa Train. We got to see the model railroad set while we waited. Everything was decorated for Christmas! We got to meet Santa. There was hot chocolate and cookies. Such a memorable experience.

Lots of rail history
May 2019
Went here during the summer months. It was very interesting to learn of the rail system when it was used for mining and transportation by locals and mining companies. I also took the train ride to the Railroad Pass Casino and back. It doesn't stop at the casino but goes past it. That was relaxing. We also saw some wild life along the way. If you have a couple hours to see this it's well worth it.

Needs More
Dec 2019
A great ride on the train but the explanatory historical information is missing. What we mean is....where are the placards both inside and outside the cars?....where are the explanations of the impact the railway had on the locale? Develop a self guided walking tour throughout the property.

Great Value and a Good Time
Nov 2019
The railroad museum is a non-profit, free museum consisting of some free displays (including a restored rail car and a miniature train layout), as well as a $10 brief train ride that goes a little ways out of town and back. It's a great, nostalgic experience for train buffs, families with kids, or just anybody. There's also a free ride on narrow-gauge train that toots around down by the parking lot. Very cute. You can tell that the place is run by train-loving volunteers. It shows in their passion and enthusiasm. Note: The rail-bike experience is a separate company using the same right-of-way, not related to the museum.
