Excellent service. The owners of Marais Plaisance couldn't have been more helpful, and speak very good English. We didn't bother to book in adcvance as we were visiting outside of peak season, but that would probably be a good idea otherwise.There is plenty of free parking nearby and a handy Super U should you have forgotten your picnic! Three of us hired a pedalo for 2 hours and took a trip along the river, parts of which were reserved for non-motorised boats, giving us the chance to see many kingfishers, dipping and diving ahead of us, along with dragonflies and other wildlife. Would definitely recommend and would visit again if we return to the area in future.…

We visited as two families, 5 children and 4 adults, and hired two kayaks and a small motor boat for two hours. It was a lovely experience and we all had a fabulous time. The owners were ever so helpful and we had lunch on the banks of the river before we got our boats. I can’t recoomend this highly enough.…

Decided to visit after reading trip advisor reviews so so glad we did. Just out of the centre with plenty of parking alongside the river. Super friendly staff tolerant of out minimal French & happy to help in English. We took a 1 1/2 hour trip which gave the 3 of us plenty of chances to have a steer of the boat & we all agreed that if we go again we will do 2 1/2 hour and take some lunch. Brilliant chance to see the countryside and birds and understand more of how the waterways were built to drain the marshes. Great fun and so nice that everyone on a boat waves as they go past.…

Whilst this is not right in the centre of Marans it is only just a couple of hundred yards up the road and uses the same waterway as the other boats. Whilst the owner wouldn't budge on the price - 40 euros I think - he did give us a boat upgrade and extra time on the river so we got to do the full trip. It'd such a varied section of river that you don't get bored. Plenty of wildlife and lots of bird life. Herons, Egrets and a flash of Kingfisher kept us well entertained. A fun way to spend 3 hours of peace and quiet…
