Would absolutely recommend Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental for renting gear. Michelle was incredibly helpful in answering all my questions and getting us exactly what we needed for our trip to Alaska in February coming from Texas. She was extremely flexible with us too as we had to adjust our initial drop off date closer to our expected arrival. Prices are reasonable and greatly appreciate the option of having the gear delivered and picked up from our hotel for a reasonable price. We used the gear in Anchorage and Fairbanks which worked out well since they have locations in both cities and we were able to take it with us versus using two different companies. We purchased the 3 piece -40 extreme cold package and added on gloves and hats as recommended by Michelle and so glad she did!…

Review of: Cold Rated Package - 3 Piece (ANC) -20F
This place was great! We spoke to them before our trip and got all the gear we would need for a winter trip lined up and they delivered it to our hotel in Anchorage and when our trip was over, they picked it up at our hotel in Fairbanks. We had all we needed--parkas, boots, underlayers, gloves, balaclavas. We were toasty and warm all during our trip which included snowmachining, dog sledding, Northern Lights viewing, Snow shoe-ing and walking around outside. We also rented cross country skis from here one day and it was so easy and hassle free. Highly recommend using this company for all your gear needs! Friendly and knowledgeable staff.…

This no fuss gear rental place is great, I always get my skiis here but they also have kayaks and even bear spray. The staff is very understanding and reasonable if there is ever a slight issue. Like one time part of the plastic on the pole broke, but they understood. You can book online or just texting them is really easy. I have brought visitors here and it is so simple and less complicated than renting in Alyeska. You can have the equipment for 24 hrs and return it at just about any time.…

Michelle and Dave at Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental in Fairbanks were amazing. The pick up and drop off was super convenient and they were able to accommodate our schedule by offering an after-hours drop off. When my boots didn't fit they were quick to offer a different size and texted with us to make sure everything was as needed. The best part was the gear itself was amazing and SO warm, and honestly very well priced (So much better than the standard ski jacket and pants we wear in Oregon winters). We were hiking in -10 degrees and were plenty warm. I felt like I could sleep outside in the parka and pants. Also, not that this is important, but the gear looked rad too. The sizing was spot on, and I could not be happier. For -10 degrees in January in Fairbanks the -40 3 piece package was perfect. I got the mittens as well and they were a life saver when my regular ski gloves couldn't hold up to the temps. The boots were high quality Sorrels, and were much warmer than the identical looking Sorrels my friend brought from Oregon. It's clear Michelle and Dave care about the experience of their customers. They even chatted with us about the best places to see the lights! Thanks Michelle and Dave for such a warm experience!…
