A lot of people stop at Earthquake Park and don't make it down here. Come here, spend 15 - 30 minutes just watching the planes land and take off. If the weather is nice, there is a trail that will take you down to the "beach."

My first official viewing of the majestic Mt Denali . I pulled over and walked up to this grassy hill . It is a pretty good viewpoint of Denali . There is a parking lot down a little bit on the right . That is a beautiful view point over the water . I believe that is facing Katmai .... More

Great unobstructed views of Denali and the ranges. If you do get a clear day and you want great views and photos this is the place to go. Plenty of parking and a nice "Alaskan Beach" to walk on. If you like an up close view of planes taking off this is also great as they take off just feet... More

We stopped here on our private city tour. It was really nice with some great views. Unfortunately, we just did not stay long enough to determine if there were other things to do here.

This is one of the best places within Anchorage to view the Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet and watch the sunset go down over Mount Susitna (The Sleeping Lady). In August, the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) start to become visible. I've seen both the sunset and the northern lights at the same time from this park and parking lot.... More

Great place to view the sunset and to watch airplanes take off. If you keep going down the road, you may see moose. We've seen moose both times. Awesome!

We got very wet by not being prepared for the downpour but sure enjoyed the beautiful trail surrounded by trees. Lots of in-line skating and local hikers/dog walkers. Gorgeous.

This spot is a real gem, you can walk around the trails or just hang out and take pictures on the rocky beach with sleeping lady behind you. This is also the perfect place to see the airplanes flying sooooo close just before they touch down.

There is a parking area here on a bluff and you can access the shore of Cook Inlet via a short trail. On a clear day it is a good place to watch the sunset and see views of Mt. Susitna, downtown Anchorage, and maybe even Denali (aka Mt. Mckinley). It's very close to Ted Stevens Airport, so jets are... More
