This lake is about an hour drive from Anchorage. It is worth the drive! Stunning blue water and multiple trails for walking and biking, as well as kayaks to rent at the lake. A must see for Alaskan visitors.

We walked, biked, and landed on a lake in a float plane. it was an amazing experience for two semi-middle-aged people celebrating our 50th. What a great place to celebrate.

Yes, you can drive to the lake. The bike rental shack was there last summer. If you're planning to camp there, there's a nice state-maintained campground there as well.
