Albert gave a fantastic tour, he is so knowledgeable about Alaska. He does so many other tours, we will definitely contact him when we return. The difference between this tour and others I have been on through trip advisor was, this tour was never rushed, no question went unanswered, And Albert’s love for Alaska shines through the entire tour. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

This trip was amazing. Albert did an awesome job as our guide, he was very informative and patient with all our questions. With what was going on in the world part of our tour was cancelled but Albert made sure we were made whole and did some different topics with us. I would definitely recommend taking this tour, it is well worth it, the sites you see are amazing.

Alaska is a very special place that should be enjoyed by all....and none better to show you this magical place than PLANET EARTH ADVENTURES. Albert, Scott, and Marlene were our adventure guides. We had 15 people total in our group (couples and families) who quickly became one big Adventure Family....due in large part to our guides personable natures, their unending enthusiasm, and the way the tour was structured. We had group meetings, shared adventures, and group meals. Our rooms at all our lodgings were close to each other. We also had time to break up into smaller groups and have our own forays into the towns we stayed at...and we would always get together later and share our experiences as a group. Both professional photographers, Albert and Scott openly shared their expertise with those of us who were camera enthusiasts, including me, the least experienced of those in our adventure family. You have to experience the mushers (such down to earth people) and their Alaskan Huskies (how loving and devoted they are to their mushers and how well their mushers take care of them....and how much the dogs love to pull sleds!!). All you have to do is pet one of these wonderful dogs and you are hooked forever !! I can go on and on about the breathtaking adventures we experienced but not enough space here to include. So I urge you to look at Planet Earth’s website and see for yourself. I can truly say that this was a special trip and looking forward to my next adventure with Planet Earth Adventures !!!

My adult daughter and son and I booked the 10 day Iditarod and Northern lights tour. We have been on many group tours in Europe and the U.S. This trip is by far the most amazing experience that we have had traveling. Starting with a breathtaking view of Alaska from the plane as we arrived in Anchorage. Albert, Marlene and Scott were very much involved with every detail from booking to all of our activities. They were also very attentive to our individual needs and went above and beyond to make our trip perfect. There were so many fantastic experiences! We attended the Mushers Banquet and were able to meet and talk to the mushers. 3/6 we took a scenic tour of the Turnagain Arm. 3/7 we watched the ceremonial start of the Iditarod followed by Fur Rondy's The Running of the Reindeer which was a lot of fun. 3/8 arrived in Willow for the official start of the Iditarod. We walked across the frozen lake that the mushers crossed. The view of the dog sleds passing by was exhilarating. We then traveled to Talkeetna and checked in to the Susitna River Lodge and cabins. The acomadations were beautiful and we enjoyed gathering in the cozy lodge to listen to Helen Hegener share her fascinating history and stories of Alaska. 3/9 we traveled by sea/ski plane to Rainy Pass landing on a frozen lake. This was one of the check points for the mushers. We saw the dogs being checked out by the veterinarians and resting on beds of hay. We then flew back to Talkeetna. 3/10 departed for Fairbanks stopping at the North Pole and the Alaskan pipeline. That night we were able to see the Northern Lights at about 2-3 am. They were amazing! Albert and Scott were great helping us with the cameras and proper settings. We got some wonderful photos. 3/11 we were able to mush our own dogsleds!!! It was awesome!!! We also got to hang out with the sweet amazing dogs. 3/12 on to Chena Hot Springs. The water felt delightful and while in the spring we were warm and our hair was frozen. Lots of fun. Afterward we went to the Ice Hotel and had appletinis in ice glasses at the ice bar. 3/13 we boarded the Alaska Railroad train to Anchorage. We saw beautiful Denali and over 100 wild Moose. The scenery was gorgeous! The best part of the trip was our group. We all immediately bonded and had a wonderful time. We are keeping in touch now that we are home and sharing our pictures with our new friends. This trip should be a must do on your bucket list! Nancy N.

My husband, Stan, and I booked the 10-Day Iditarod & Northern Lights Winter Adventure (March 2020) thru Planet Earth Adventures. Although we've traveled extensively in the USA & internationally, there aren't enough superlatives to describe how wonderful this vacation was. I'd give PEA 10 stars if I could! From first contact to end-of-tour it was an amazing vacation due to 3 things: Our guides, owner/guide Albert Marquez and his wife Marlene, and guide Scott Slone. Each shared their Alaska knowledge, Alaskan and personal stories, enthusiasm and love of their state. They were all approachable, easy to talk to, warm and friendly. Initial contact with Albert was frequent via phone calls & emails to ensure this trip was what we wanted. I was initially concerned about my ability to keep up (stamina) and Albert responded to my email quickly and calmed my worries. At our first group meeting (17 guests) with Albert & Scott, we were all introduced. Which leads to the second reason this trip was so amazing, the group. Although Albert, Scott & Marlene were not responsible for the personalities of the people on this trip, their warmth, humor and friendliness quickly put all guests at ease and aided in group bonding. And bond we did. By the end of the trip we were all sad to end the tour & leave Alaska, Albert, Scott & Marlene...we'd become family. The third reason this trip was so amazing: the itinerary. The beautiful scenery - and Dall sheep - of the Turnagain Arm; the animals at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center; the Iditarod Mushers Banquet where we got to personally meet the mushers and get autographs; the ceremonial start of the race in Anchorage and the exhilirating official start in Willow. A stay at the Susitna River Lodge in Talkeetna, with it's serenity and beautiful scenery; the flight in a tiny, tiny airplane to visit Rainy Pass checkpoint to watch the sleds coming in & the mushers tending to their dogs. Then on to Fairbanks where we saw the World Ice Art Championship and attempted to see the Northern Lights (very faint but certainly not the tour's fault). The highlight of the trip for me was visiting a dog sled kennel. We interacted with the very friendly, well cared for and loved dogs. We were able to chose between mushing a sled or riding in the basket. We chose to ride. What an incredible experience! Our musher took great care of us, making sure that we were comfortable & enjoying ourselves. Next up was Chena Hot Springs where we bathed in the hot soothing water, took a tour of the hydroponic greenhouse, and had an appletini served in a martini glass made of ice at the Ice Hotel. Our final day of the tour took us to the Alaska Railroad where we rode the train from Fairbanks back to Anchorage, a 12-hour trip that flew by & showcased the incredible scenery that is Alaska. During our trip we also had several incredible views of Denali. While you can read the itinerary of this trip on their website, my point in listing most of it was to illustrate how all encompassing this tour was. While slight changes occurred due to weather or unexpected closings, adjustments were always made and happily enjoyed. We can't thank Albert, Scott & Marlene enough for putting this all together and truly making this a once-in-a-lifetime trip. They thought of everything!
