The Alaska Tours team put together a very nice itinerary to see big chunks of Alaska in just 5 days' time. Starting in Anchorage with a morning pickup to a 6hr Prince William Sound Glacier tour. With the 2hr each way bus ride, it was a long 12+hr day but very memorable. The next morning, departed on a glass topped train with very good food and beverage service for the 7hr ride to Denali. A 5:30am departure the next morning to climb on a school bus for a 5.5hr tour through the Denali range. Several animals sighted. The next afternoon we were scheduled to take the same train for another 4hrs to Fairbanks. We decided to skip that and take a 2hr taxi to get into Fairbanks early and save a day. A tour of Fairbanks the next morning was good, and the flight arranged back to Anchorage went without a hitch.

We took a road trip through Alaska's interior: Anchorage to Fairbanks to Valdez and Seward, and back to Anchorage. Alaska Tours made our lodging and excursion reservations, gave us a complete driving itinerary, and gave us many recommendations for places to eat and extra things to do. We loved our trip and were so grateful for Alaska Tours. I was nervous to plan a driving trip to Alaska. Kimberly and the rest of the team made it easy and enjoyable. We would definitely use Alaska tours again and will recommend their services to anyone wishing to design a trip to Alaska.

We did a self drive Denali, Talkeetna, Seward 8 day trip and we were very happy with the itinerary, lodging and tours put together by Alaska Tours. I have always done my own planning and booking but knew nothing about Alaska and didn't have time to do my normal research. It was great having a knowledgable agent who didn't try to upsell me but actually listened to what we wanted and exceeded our expectations with the end product.

While no one can control the weather, on a cloudy, rainy day we would not recommend this trip. We flew in a bush plane from Anchorage to Coldfoot but could see only fog and nothing of the landscape below. The Dalton Highway is very rough (knew that going in ) but was also rutted and full of puddles which splashed mud on the windows, prohibiting viewing when something did emerge out of the clouds/rain/fog. We purchased the offered lunch and dinner and the food was good. It was too long a day and too much hassle to take our own food so buying theirs was the only other option. The cabin where we waited to try to view the aurora was roomy and warm with free hot drinks. Unfortunately the sky never cleared so, though we waited till 2 AM, there was no aurora viewing. It is then a 2 hr trip back to Anchorage, getting us in around 4:30 AM. We expected the road to be rough and the return late but there was no way to factor in the weather which pretty much eliminated the purpose of the trip. A better option might be to find an aurora watching excursion only and skip Coldfoot, the Arctic Circle and the Dalton Highway.

I booked an Alaska Tour and Travel land package after an Alaskan cruise and was very pleased. We got off the boat in Seward right at the ship dock and boarded a bus to Denali. We checked in to the Denali Park Village Lodge and enjoyed the Denali Tundra Wilderness tour by bus seeing bears, caribou, moose, alpine squirrels, etc. The next day we took the Wilderness Express Dome train to Talkeetna and enjoyed a drink from the full bar, were served lunch in the lower level dining room and oohed over fabulous views through the glass ceiling and windows. We checked in to the lovely Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. Due to foggy weather, our Denali Glacier Landing flight was cancelled so we walked to town to shop. That afternoon, we boarded the train again to go to Anchorage. (Check in at the Talkeetna train station was the only glitch of the trip as the Wilderness Express train rep was difficult to locate.) In Anchorage, we jumped in to the waiting shuttle and went to the Comfort Inn.
All of the connections were ready and waiting for us, the hotel rooms were spacious and comfortable and the ease of these arrangements were wonderful. I received a refund for our cancelled flight promptly and without asking. This was really a great experience and I highly recommend it!

this was a great tour of Denali National Park, it was a 2 nights, 3 days tour. We upgraded to take the train instead of the bus to Denali. It was an 8 hour train ride very comfortable. We were house at the Denali Fluffs Hotel which was very clean and nicely decorated. The shuttle was available from train station to the hotel. Next day we had a 5 hour tour of the park was able to see wildlife and the beautiful scenery of the Park. Visited the visitor center exhibits and watched the films. Main thing was able to see the Mountain Denali in its grand splendor. There is a restaurant at the hotel and various down to the roadside which the hotel shuttle can take you. The shuttle also took you back to the train station for the returned trip back to Anchorage on the 3rd day. Would definitely recommend this tour if you want to do a pre-cruise land tour on your own. Although many people from the cruise lines were on the same tour.

This was a tour unlike any others I've been on. There is no tour director and in the nine days we were in Alaska, we never met anyone who was on the same tour as us. We did have vouchers for every hotel, all transportation, and the activities described on the website. We had a good time but I would consider planning this trip on your own. I'm sure it can be done for less money and the effort it would take would be worth it seeing as you don't have anyone to guide you through your trip anyways. It's not really a tour. And keep in mind that virtually no meals are included and you're responsible for your own airline reservations. I hope Alaska Tours has changed the Anchorage accommodations as our stay at a very disorganized hotel that was in disrepair was a huge disappointment. Despite my complaints, we loved Alaska and will go back. Just not with Alaska Tours.

Our travel agent used this company to plan and book our Kodiak Brown Bear viewing trip. (Wanted to give him some business since COVID hit so hard) They were very slow with communication and confirmations. So slow that I asked my agent to cancel the trip with them. When they took so long I looked up booking the trip myself. They charged me an additional $2200.00 (outrangous) for booking our flights, hotel rooms and stay at Kodiak Brown Bear Center. I could have easily done it all myself!!!

I asked my travel agent to cancel because they had not sent me any confirmations or processed my credit card. They refused and while I was on the phone, with him giving me this information, they put my card through. The price of the trip is all lumped in one price so I had no idea they charged this much until I broke it down. I asked to have my flights in and out of Kodiak to be changed to earlier flights, so that if there was a weather issue we could hopefully catch later flight. They eventually rescheduled flight in but REFUSED to change flight out of Kodiak to Anchorage. I called Alaska airlines when we were in Kodiak and for $50 each the airline rescheduled our flight.

We had an amazing time at the Kodiak Brown Bear Center and will definitely return.
I will NEVER have any dealings with All Alaska Tours Again. They are only in it to make money and do NOT care about the clients wishes.

We appreciate the feedback. The programs we offer with the Kodiak Brown Bear Center have a specific itinerary with set flight times, because of our experience with weather challenges in this particular area. We are glad you enjoyed your time at the Brown Bear Center. Sincerely, Alaska Tours

This was a very interesting and enjoyable trip. The scenery was good along the Dalton highway to the Arctic Circle. Lunch and dinner was available at the Yukon River. The food was very good and better than would have expected in that remote location. I enjoyed the numerous videos on the Alaska pipeline and the native population.

The tour guide (Kendall Champion) was particularly good. He had many great stories relating to the things we saw. His puns, especially the ones on geology, were quite good. That is if you appreciate good puns. He also recited an entertaining poem from memory about Alaska called “The Cremation of Sam McGee” It was a great laugh on the way back to Fairbanks. All and all he did a great job.

The drive and views were great! As were the excursions/boat tours. The only thing that could have made it more excellent is more details on what the hotels provided (on-site restaurant, fridge, microwave, etc), and the tours (one included "lunch" that was basically a terrible-tasting soup and a bagel, not my idea of lunch) and we could have been more prepared. But overall was a great trip and would do again!! We loved the details on the road trip with options so we could pick and choose what we wanted to see. The check-in to all the hotels and excursions was seamless!
