Below ground it's a welcoming 15c on a hot day out of the sun. It is very interesting to see how people lived and worked in the caves and we spent a good couple of hours exploring. The gift shop was a bit limited but...More

Interesting for adults - but there is not much for kids as this is not interactive and there is not much for them to see apart of the caves itself. This was a 30 minutes visit for us.

Good way to spend an hour or so, interpretation written in leaflet and wall mounted . Like the way the different eras were staged.

Great site displaying 1500 years of history! It’s a fairly short walk around so it’s good for younger children. There are also other places of interest near by if you want to make a day of it.

Friendly staff in this small site in Doue. In a residential area so not a lot of parking but small shop and interesting visit. Interesting guided tour in French going on whilst we were there.

This place fascinated me. It’s not expensive and the history is really great. I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the region.

Interesting visit to a unique phenomenon in this part of France. Only partly unearthed. It is almost unbelievable that 35000 sarcophages have been cut out of this 'soft' stone. We were almost alone and got great additional information (also about the local rose culture) from...More

Not knowing much about the these structures or their history, this tour was very informative. Our guide from Boston was very enthusiastic and jovial. We learned a lot. Note that this particular site seemed to have limited opening times, so check before you go.

Unusual. Photos were great. Life in caves, farming life. Certainly not boring. Great value for money. Loads of parking.

I didn't know what to expect but found the place so interesting yet bizarre. There have even been sarcophygi (sorry about the spelling) in England. You can clearly see the carving marks left by the stonemasons. You are invited to try out a hole in...More
