I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem in the midst of Seattle. Certainly should have found it earlier. Very nicely kept and safe. It is a public park in the best of all European traditions with lots of space for activities and families. The...More

Volunteer Park is great for tourists and locals alike, especially for summer picnicking and napping in the sun/shade. I would also recommend climbing the water tower for 360 degree views of the area. Also, it's a little off the beaten path so parking tends to...More

We strolled through part of the park on a warm Saturday afternoon in July - and it was a welcome respite from the throngs of people downtown. This a great park for walking, jogging, and family activities. The road going through it didn't appear that...More

Previously known as Pretty Boy Beach, this spot was a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Bring a picnic basket, blanket and enjoy the sunshine. Be sure to take plenty of photos and catch some shade as you walk through the pathways.

Great place for a nice walk. I love the doughnut-shaped sculpture, through which you can see the space needle (and maybe get a good perspective photo).

This is a great way to enjoy a couple of hours with the family away from the busyness of the city. There is a little a little greenhouse that you pay an entrance fee to get in to see. There are also a couple of...More

Volunteer Park is one of the best Seattle Parks. It's located on the north end of Seattle. Beautiful park for just walking around or having a picnic. They have some nice gardens in the park. Days like today (clear, 72 degrees and lots of sun)

This park has lots to offer with plenty of parking spaces. The water tower has 107 steps to reach the top and then splendid city views await including the iconic Space Needle and Mt. Rainier seen faintly to the right. I visited last Thursday which...More

This park would be great just to drive around and see the wonderful lawns, reservoir and water tower. But it is best to walk and enjoy the space. In early May there were flowers blooming everywhere. The old water tower is a gem itself (also...More

Must have got caught by the cops a hundred times while "making out" in this park growing up as a kid! Fond memories for sure. Its a nice little park with a cool old Bastille and a greenhouse/atrium that has concerts in the summer and...More

I don't usually use public transportation, but I would suggest taking a bus or the light rail. There is a station for the light rail near Pike Place and there is also one in Capital Hill where Volunteer Park is located. It... More
