About AdventureTerra
AdventureTerra LLC, originally founded in 2012, is an educational climbing guide service offering many unique adventures. We are continuously expanding our adventures and currently are offering activities that have not been available before in Washington State. Including Deception Pass State Park Canopy Tree Climbing. We take people up to 200 feet high into the canopy for a four hour educational adventure, offering two types of climbs, day climbs and sunset climbs. Our guides on the canopy climbs are certified arborists or professional educators. They insure both the safety of the climbers and trees, and provide education on the climbing techniques, the trees, and the environment. AdventureTerra's founding program, rock climbing, has two guides and licenses from the state to operate in many locations in the cascades. Our main interests are to get as many people as possible out into nature and for them to experience something new, socially valuable, educational and, especially, fun.

Amazing. Leo was very knowledgeable and experienced. He shared his knowledge of the trees and the forest while teaching us everything we needed to know about how to climb the trees. He was patient with each climber and gave us confidence. Sitting at the top of a Douglas Fir on a branch overlooking the tops of other trees and out into Deception Pass was incredible. Highly recommend this experience and Leo.

Amazing experience. Leo was a fantastic guide. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area or as a detour on the way to San Juan Islands. Will be encouraging friends and family to do the same. Thanks Leo!

Our family of 4 (a teen and tween) did this together with another couple we didn't know back in August 2020. It was FANTASTIC. It was definitely the highlight of our camping trip to Deception Pass. Our guide, Rilen, was professional, fun, and an amazing teacher/instructor - he made us all feel comfortable with something that was out of our comfort zone (2/4 of us have a fear of heights). I highly recommend Rilen and the tree climbing experience through AdventureTerra. The views at the top are breathtaking, and this climb provided a sense of accomplishment and a boost of confidence for our kids. DO IT!

A great new experience for my father and I! We climbed three trees and the instructor even let me do a more challenging course. Leo was positive and knowledgeable - would definitely recommend this adventure for anyone! Especially if you like a bit of a challenge and want to get out of your comfort zone (safely).

Our group of friends did the canopy tree climbing to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. For starters, our reservation happened to be during the week when intense wildfire smoke had engulfed the entire Puget Sound region. Leo was completely accommodating given the circumstances and allowed us the opportunity to change our booking the day before if we decided the smoke was going to be too problematic. Fortunately, the smoke began to clear and we decided to go ahead with our scheduled booking. Leo was an amazing instructor and guide. It's obvious he has been doing this for a long time and is completely competent and professional to keep everyone safe. In regards to health and safety (due to COVID-19), he supplied hand sanitizer before and after our session and sprayed everyone's equipment immediately after removing it. Everyone was diligent in wearing masks when distancing ourselves was not possible.
