About
AdventureTerra LLC, originally founded in 2012, is an educational climbing guide service offering many unique adventures and classes that only we offer in Washington State. Plus no experience is necessary for most of our rock climbing and tree climbing classes. Including our Tree Canopy Climbing on Lopez Island where participants get to climb rare old-growth trees. During our tree climbing experiences, we take people up to 100 - 200 feet high into the canopy, during a four hour educational adventure, offering two types of climbs, day climbs and sunset climbs. Our guides are all professional and trained educators. We take care of our clients and the trees during our experiences, exploring the ecology of old-growth trees and other environmental topics. We also offer rock climbing classes at Mt.Erie in Washington State. Our main interests are to get as many people as possible out into nature and for them to experience something new, socially valuable, educational, and especially fun.

At Northbend. Leo was our guide and did a fantastic job with our three teenage children. He taught them the rock climbing techniques clearly and made sure they were safe, but also helped build their confidence. After a couple climbs they were doing knots and baleying all on their own—and with confidence. He chose routes that were just at their skill level. We would definitely recommend Leo to anyone wishing to have a great first time rock climbing!

My day with Adventure Terra was a climbers dream come true. When we first arrived in the slight drizzle of an overcast day, coffee in hand, I didn't know what to expect. I watched as Leo, our guide, took everyone through the steps of pulling yourself up a tree and rappelling down safely and efficiently. I felt comfortable in the gear provided as I made my way up the trunk as we practiced. Little did I know, we were only using this first tree for training. After we were all adjusted to the technique, we strolled through the beautiful growth of Silver Falls State Park. Leo was insightful about the trees and the land. He shared lots of great knowledge with all the guests as we approached our main ascent... A GIANT old growth tree in the middle of the park. Where I was unsure about climbing hundreds of feet into the air at first, I felt supported by the staff and other adventurers and pushed through. I'm glad I did. We made our way above all other trees and through the sky as the clouds opened up. I have never seen such a view that I worked for and now have many of the skills to do this again! I felt like I was bonding with the people around as I grinned my way through the branches. This is an opportunity you won't get anywhere else. Take it!

My family including my 17 and 20 yo boys did the half day tree climbing adventure. It was a blast. With Leo, the owner, and issac as our guide, we learned how to climb these absolutely majestic trees. We got high enough that we we could just see above the other trees to see the water. Later we found out that we could have transfer ropes and climbed even higher! Bummer that we missed that. It was a real blast but the best part is that no trees were harmed in the process. Nothing was hammered or nailed to the trees which was really important. These trees are just too too majestic to risk any harm. They are awe inspiring. Must do on way to or from San Juan Islands.

Thanks for the great review! We love it when people notice how well we take care of the trees, and that we do no damage to them. It is very important to us. Thanks again for coming out!

Some of my family and I went this Tuesday to rock climb on Mt. Erie with Leo as our guide, and I can gladly say it was easily one of the funnest things I've ever done in my life. We knew nothing about rock climbing but our instructor Leo guided us the whole way through, and at the end of the day I can confidently say I know how to free climb safely and belay my partner with ease. It was an unforgettable experience and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bunch of fun. I'm already looking forward for my next visit to Washington to take their intermediate course.

Had a great time climbing a massive old growth tree today at Silver Falls.
Both Tim and Leo were great and thorough instructors. My girlfriend and I felt completely at ease and prepared for the climb before we adventured up.
Will definitely be recommending to anyone willing to listen.

I wanted to go climbing for about a year before I was able to justify the price. Man oh man was it worth the money. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. It was such a unique and fun adventure. I am actually planning my next climb already. Our guide Matt was awesome! He created such a relaxed learning environment and made us all feel comfortable and confident. You will not regret spending the money on this activity!

What an incredible experience! I took my kids (ages 15 & 11) and we all thought it was amazing and we felt completely safe the entire time. Leo and his apprentice (Ryland?) were so kind, patient, helpful, and informative. We not only got to climb 200 feet, but also learned interesting facts about the trees. If you get a chance - do it! My special advice for women: wear a sports bra ;)

This was an amazing experience. My husband and I had the most incredible time. We started with a short practice climb and then the two main trees about 200 feet up each. The first tree had sweeping views of deception pass and the bridge. The second tree took you well into the canopy with a 360 view of more trees. We had a eagle perch not far from us. This is a physical activity. Expect a workout. I suggest long pants and socks that cover your ankles to protect your legs from rope burns and bumping into branches. Our guide Matt was great and super knowledgeable about the environment around us. Worth every penny. I highly recommend doing this. I will definitely do it again.

Adventure Terra guided us on an awesome extended family outing yesterday that no one will forget. Leo and Matt explained the climbing process in easy terms, expertly set everyone up with the correct gear, and guided us through a practice run prior to the big climb. They are very safety conscious and checked gear at key points (attaching to the system, etc), and then we were free to climb at our own pace.

I had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it. I was very nervous to begin with and had an issue with not being able to bend my knee all the way and our 2 guides (Zack and Matt) were great about adjusting things to help me out. They were very friendly and knowledgeable and explained everything well and made us feel safe and comfortable.
The views from the top were great and my friends and I had a lot of fun. It was definitely a workout.
