About
Walking along the Seattle Waterfront is a perfect way to soak up some Northwest atmosphere. Take in views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains while exploring Olympic Sculpture Park, the Seattle Aquarium, shops, and restaurants like Ivar’s, a local landmark, where you can watch the ferries load and depart while you eat.

Views Enjoyed with a Cool Breeze
My wife and I enjoyed the waterfront and the cool breeze on the hot day we visited the city. At the side of the pier there was a live band playing in the square attracting a crowd enjoying the music. We walked along the pier with its impressive ferris wheel at the end. There is a good view of the harbour and the boats and we sat and cooled down for a while before walking back pass the lines for the rides. Worth a visit.

Not up to par with the Marriott brand
This hotel needs Mariott Management to overhall it badly. The rooms are not up to the standard of cleanlieness of Marriott. I had dirty pillow cases, food on the chair, and the leftover room service order form from the person who stayed in the room before me. They actually placed it on my bed already filled out with the former guest's order. The hotel is REALLY loud: on a main highway AND a train line with paper thin walls. The train blares its horn every 10 minutes. You can hear the person moving stuff around in the room next door. The heat does not work well in the room and just blows cold air. All in all, this was not the experience I am used to at Marriotts.

    Panoramic roller coaster
The roller coaster is amazing. Each gondola seats 8 and the views are amazing on a clear day - change sides halfway if you can so you get both sound and city views. The waterfront shops are mostly tourist trap stuff and can be skipped even though you have to walk through them to exit. The price is not bad and worth it if you have good weather.

Fleece of out of state tourists
Decent place for shops great restaurants but parking is a joke. Big sign said free parking on Sundays. We parked by the sign. 1 1/2 hours later returned to $66 fine. Told it’s private property free parking is on the street only. Seriously???? Move the sign or do a better job of identifying your “private lot”! This is an illigal fleece on out of state tourers. Other cars were getting tickets also. People out shopping and eating paying taxes are fleeced while the idiots running this cesspool of a city is allowing tent cities if homeless people and litter to trash up the area. I’ll never be back.

    Pikes Market area
This market, restaurant and shopping area on the waterfront is very pleasant. You have views of the snowcapped mountains, a train that goes right by the buildings, art installations, seagulls etc! One of my favorite sections was the “local” area. Everything in that area had to be made locally. Lots of fabulous artists and mead, wine etc. You can watch cheese being made and then eat some!

Sunny Day Brought Many to the Waterfront
An unexpected sunny, though cool day brought out the crowds. The views across the water, though a bit hazy, were picturesque, including the Great (ferris) Wheel. These views were more striking from the streets above. The piers offered a variety of shopping and eating options. Mainstays like the aquarium and cruise lines provide more sightseeing possibilities. The only challenge at this time is major road construction along Alaskan Way made access challenging.

Experience the PNW on the Seattle Waterfront
The Seattle Waterfront runs along the rear of Pike's Peak Market. Restaurants, souvenir shops, fish markets, The Seattle Great Wheel, gondolas, and the world's first Starbucks are all within short walking distances. After sunset this boardwalk and the Great Wheel illuminate the Puget Sound coasts and Pacific Northwest skies.

    Harbor front of seattle downtown
Our cruise ship embarked at pier 66. There is lots to do around downtown the harbor front. Be prepared to walk around. Pike peaks market, seattle aquarium, space needle is all close by. Be prepared to spend as it gets pricey for entrance fees, parking, meals etc…

    You just gotta do it
You haven't seen Seattle till you wander the piers and boardwalks downtown. Lots of unusual shops, restaurants (fancy, simple cafes, and take out places), ferris wheel, and more. Best if you can visit when the crowds aren't at their worst, so avoid days when the cruise ships disgorge hordes.

    Main Tourist Area
Fun area and beautiful views of the waterfront and Puget sound. Current construction alone Alaskan which hampers walking along the sidewalks. The Seattle Aquarium, Seattle Ferris wheel along with the landing area provides good restaurants, sovereign shops and close to pikes market. Access to pikes market is across Alaskan way in the parking parkade. There are many hopeless in the parkade area and not the best at night using the elevator to get up to pikes market.

Walk along their street and piers and you see the usual tourist activities and tourists.
Possibly cruise ship business too.
A variety from Aquarium to sailing to boating to restaurants and shops line this strip.
Continue north and the busy streets transfers to a much quieter bay experience at Olympic sculpture park.

Only had an hour or so before we had to catch a flight out of Seattle after arriving here, so this was the place we landed so to speak to make all our impressions of the beautiful city. That was my impression, it's so picturesque, and was so surprised by the steep Sand Franciscan roads in the downtown area heading down to the Waterfront, which seems very popular or was on this last saturday in August. Everyone we talked to in the shops was very friendly and people seemed genuinely happy to be here. The Wheel seems very popular and the restaurants here, and was totally impressed by how clean everything is. All and all very impressed and hope to return some day to here and also to see the rest of Seattle. Good job to those who keep up the Waterfront !!

So many homeless in this area. Saw a couple shooting up behind a kybo. I’d never take kids here. It’s gone downhill over the last 20 years. Many businesses have left the area, empty shops everywhere.
