We took the ferry across for dinner at Marinade. It's a fun place, rustic and busy. One line to order food. Another line to order beverages. And one very, very long line for the single, very dirty indoor bathroom. Afterward, we had a nice walk along the water. The view of downtown Seattle from the ferry is worth noting.

Take the water taxi from downtown, then walk along the boardwalk promenade, beach and waterfront with breathtaking views of Seattle, the Sound and the Olympics. Then hike up Me-Kwa-Mooks Area with abundant wildlife to Hudson/West Seattle Junction and walk back to the ferry along California with boutiques, shops, coffee houses, and restaurants.

West Seattle Junction is a small commercial area with shops and restaurants catering to the residents living around the area. There are some nice dining outlets and bakeries here. The area is well maintained and clean. Not for the tourist here, unless you want to experience the everyday life of a local.
