Fun at the Zoo!
Nov 2019 • Solo
Lots to see! Acres to traverse. Animals are healthy looking. Enclosures are clean. Zoo staff are friendly. Exhibits are clearly marked. Love the Zoo’s app. Easy to find restrooms. Worth at least a few hours of your time.

Very enjoyable - lots of animals
Oct 2019
Spent a good three hours in the Zoo and saw lots of animals. There were only a couple of the exhibits which were empty however this did not detract from our visit. Lovely and sunny during the day of our visit, which was a bonus and although at the end of the season the Rose Garden still had quite a few flowers on show. Another relaxing place to spend an hour or so taking in the scenery.

Smell the Roses
Jun 2019 • Couples
Picked a great day, sunny and 78 degrees, to see this beautiful garden for the first time. The roses are the main attraction, but the shaped shrubs, trees, sensory garden, and other parts made this a very worthwhile outdoor destination.

Absolutely must see in June!!!!
Jun 2019 • Family
I love this garden! This rose garden rivals (and wins imho) Portland, Oregon own rose garden. It is about two acres of full on color, scents, butterflies and beautifully sculpted hedges and junipers. Lots of paths and a full on sensory garden that boats accessibility for everyone. Must see in June. Near Woodland Park South entrance. Parking on road.

Big city park with great attractions
Jun 2018 • Couples
Woodland is a great park for exercising, relaxing, going to the Zoo or visiting the extensive rose garden.
Our last visit was our first to the rose garden which is very pretty, with over 200 varieties and thousands of roses. They are mostly hybrid roses but there are some fragrant varieties.

Well laid out with parking nearby and a range of well maintained exhibits.
Jun 2018 • Couples
Spent a pleasant 4hours here wandering round the various themed zones which are well signposted and easily accessible for parents with buggies or those with walking difficulties. Buggies, carts etc are available for rent. PRticularly pleased to see the sloth bear with her 2 six month old cubs. The big cats, typically, were snoozing. This venue was busy and is popular with families. The viewing areas are well thought out sand there are seats and picnic areas throughout the site.

great park..
Jun 2017 • Couples
Always loved going here as a kid. Cool animals, nice flowers...worth a day if you lots of time during the summer in Seattle. The animals are locked up in the winter mostly. If you don't have a lot of time, There are better ways to spend an entire day, however.

I love Roses - so May for the beginning, June and September for most
Apr 2018 • Friends
This a lovely, large, but not overwhelming garden for rose lovers-some test gardens, some old favorites. You have to pick your time though. Right now its too early- but they are getting ready. The once flowering varieties are in the spring , and I have had the most luck here in June and then maybe the last big flush in September. Its great all on its own even if you aren't going to the zoo .

Small urban park close to everything
Dec 2017 • Family
You get the convenience of being close to everything with an overlooked recreational area filled with plentiful attractions.

Woodland Park borders the more famous Greenlake Park and can be easily reached from Aurora Avenue (Washington State Highway 99) and Interstate 5. The park reaches to the peak of Phinney Ridge, which has plentiful restaurants. Within the park is Seattle's Woodland Park Zoo, a premiere family attraction; the Rose Garden (blooms peak in late spring, but the gardens are open year round); seven tennis courts in two locations; four sports fields; and even a putting green golf course! (technically the golf course is across the road in Greenlake). See if you can find the secret horseshoe fields!

There are a number of parking places, some of which only the locals know about. Parking is free, but caveat emptor: there's a small and mostly harmless homeless community here (in RVs, cars and bicycles), just like in every park in the USA.
