The Duck tour was a really neat experience! Our guide was funny and had us constantly laughing despite how cold we all were. He made it a fun and memorable experience while also providing interesting facts about the area and boat itself. I'd definitely recommend this tour for someone who wants to explore Seattle and get a feel for the area in a fun and unique way. It was a great time!

And we're shore glad you rode with us, too! Thank you for the excellent review and all the laughs you shared with us. We're thrilled to see how much fun you had with us on our unique sightseeing tour- and hope you got to use our blankets on board to stay extra warm!

Initially I was a bit sceptical about doing this tour as it was my wife’s idea, however it was really good fun and gave you a great insight into the layout of Seattle and some interesting ideas to do later! It is very easy to find the meeting point as it is located right next to the space needle. The Duck ride around Seattle was really interesting and the bit on the water lets you see how the other half live!
As we went in February then there was only eight of us on the actual tour, however the guide remained enthusiastic and made it a fun and enjoyable trip.
It was a bit chilly but there are blankets on board so you can wrap your legs and keep warm. The Gade kept offering to put the sides down if we wanted, but we opted to just use the blankets.

I spent one day in Seattle, and there is no way I could have seen as much as I did on this tour on my own. It was so fun getting to see the city from both land and water, and the guides made it very entertaining and enjoyable, even in the bad weather. Would highly recommend!

Thank you for the detailed review! We're so happy you chose the one day you were here to take our tour, because we always want our guests to know how much of Seattle we cover both physically on our tour route and orally by history and storytelling. We think rainy weather is still a great time to take our tour and we're so glad you did!

Have been on this tour 3 times already as we have taken family and friends who are visiting. Staff is very friendly and the tour is informative and fun! There's never a dull moment. The best part of the tour is the view of the Seattle skyline from the middle of lake union. Highly recommend!

I took a duck tour when I was in Seattle over the summer and it was the highlight of my trip no doubt about it! The Guide was very enthusiastic and great at pointing out sights in the city and when we were on the lake. He also gave us duck calls to make noises which might have driven him crazy but it really completed the ride.
I hope anyone who gets to Seattle takes the tour of a lifetime!

My husband, 16 year old son, and 4 year old son and I went on the tour while in Seattle. The weather was perfect, the driver was safe, and the narrator was both funny and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to everyone. Great views and photo moments while on board.

Chip our skipper was truly a hoot.. We learned a lot of both fun and historical facts about Seattle. Chose to do this as our first touristy event to orient us to Seattletown. Our tour was just ducky! Thank you! ~The Professor & Mary Ann

This was the first time riding the duck and it was fun, educational and relaxing. I can think of no better way to quickly see the sites while learning about history and being properly entertained. Congratulations to the staff and the company for really getting it. We will recommend it to anyone headed to the Seattle area.

I was thinking a tour of the city in an interesting vehicle was just going to be like any other city tour... Ooooo awwww to the right is this building blah blah blah.... But I was wrong, it was a lot more than that. The guide was hilarious and knew so much about the city. He played all these different songs that go with each part of the tour. He has like a million silly hats he wears, dances, sings and gets all the people involved. So much fun. Then the bus droves right into the harbor. That was awesome also. I think this is a must do in Seattle when you visit. We were there 5 days and I'm glad we went. Good for all ages.

Hi Laura! Thank you for the recommendation. Which side of the bus/boat is best? Right side or left side? Or does it make a difference?
Thank you!

Thank you for your question. Both sides of the Duck have large windows and provide great views of Seattle's highlights- we recommend both sides!
Written July 29, 2019
Hi Penny, every seat on the Duck is great! Our super large windows mean that you're going to get gorgeous views whether you're in front or back. Seats A1 & A2 have more limited legroom but that is the only difference.

Is there a specific time that I should book the trip to get better views or better traffic flow? Should we sit on behind the driver or the guide?
Written September 15, 2018
Any time should be fine. We sat in the second row behind the driver and had great views. I would definitely suggest sitting up front so you can hear everything the guide says. As we were driving, those of us near the front would ask her questions about things and she would happily answer, but it wasn't part of her tour, so she only answered in her normal voice to us. Those farther back missed out on a lot of neat information.

Really worried. Would love to do this tour but the Seattle Times have reported the Duck Tours vehicles banned in some areas because they are so unsafe AND there was a major accident in Seattle where the safety of the vehicle caused deaths. Have there been serious safety improvements? The company need not reply but if there is anyone in the know on an official (unbiased) capacity with regards to improved safety....I'm all ears!

A must do tour
I went on their tour in February. They had a light come on the dash so they got another to take its place . This was just precautionary.
Felt safe at all times.

I am thinking of doung this tour the day I arrive in Seattle. I have 2 questions A) what time does it get dark in April. I will probably do the last tour. b) do you get to see the troll on this tour?
Thank you
Written March 25, 2018
I live in Illinois so I have no clue what time it gets dark in April but you do get a brief glance at the troll. I was kind of bummed I couldn’t see it better but will next visit but I still recommend this tour. It was great

Is it better to sit in the front or back?

Where do you suggest we park our rental car near your location? My husband has walking issues so he can't walk very far. Also what at the rates for a military senior in May 2017?
Written February 18, 2017
Hi Vicki,
Ride the Ducks does not own or operate any of the nearby parking lots, but there is ample parking near this location. There is paid hourly parking adjacent to our building at 5th Avenue & Broad Street. Rates vary. The Seattle Center Parking Garage is also a good spot to park--only about one block away from where your tour will depart.
The rate for a military senior is $32 plus tax. Looking forward to having you and your husband on board!
