Attended the macaroon baking class with my wife in a small 8 person group. Had a great time baking 3 different types of macaroons. Got to learn all the special techniques that you can never grasp from reading a book or watching a video to make delicious macaroons. Would recommend to any one who loves cooking, baking and a small private setting to learn.

Three friends and I took a macaron baking class with Muriel at her gorgeous Bellevue home and it totally changed my idea of macarons. I am not a fancy baker (I do uncomplicated cookies, pies, simple breads, etc.) and have never understood the macaron craze that's still going strong. In this class, I learned that they are quite challenging to make and are mouthwateringly delicious when correctly and precisely made--I think I just never tried ones so good as these! The fun in baking them is how challenging they are and imagining all the possible color and flavor combinations.

It was a great experience for me and my girlfriends and Muriel was an excellent teacher. First, she made a batch of strawberry macarons and explained very clearly what she was doing every step of the way, including how to gauge if you've done it correctly. Next, we paired up and made a different flavor on our own (coffee and black olive in this case). Muriel helped us every step of the way and sent recipes and videos afterwards.

I can't wait to try to make them again without Muriel's help! (Fingers crossed). Word to the wise: if you go on a weeknight, eat dinner first! There's a small snack of crackers, cheese, and prosciutto provided.

Thank you so much for the kind comments. It was a pleasure hosting your little group and I will always be happy to answer questions via email if you have some next time you make macarons at home.

Muriel is a lovely hostess, and wonderful instructor. My sister and I took the Macarons class. Macarons are something I've always wanted to make, but too intimidated to try. Armed with Muriel's guidance, I'm excited to try these on my own!

Contrary to most reviews I've read, my group did not have a great experience at Paris Eastside. My son and niece signed up for the Children's crepes class. It was our first time there, so we arrived 20 minutes early to an empty shop and were not greeted warmly. We started to look around, but Muriel was very uptight as the kids were looking around the shop. My sister and I were told by Muriel to come back in 20 minutes -- not exactly welcoming. It was raining outside, so we chose to stay and keep an eye on our children while we waited. If you are offering a children's class, you should have a "kid-friendly" space for children to wait.

At 4:00, Muriel's nice assistant Kelly started the class and my sister and I went for a walk. Since we did not stay to observe the class (we weren't really invited to), the feedback we received from my 11-year old niece and 8-year old son was that the class wasn't hands-on enough. All seven children in the class shared in making the crepe batter in one blender -- each getting to add or measure one or two ingredients. Overall, they would have like a more individual more hands-on experience. It was a new and interesting experience, but not one we are likely to repeat. I'm sure the adult classes fit Muriel's personality much better, as have ready many good reviews about them!

I took a macaron making class with Muriel and it absolutely terrific! She's very knowledgeable and has been teaching for decades. Any time spent with her is time well spent! If you're thinking about signing up for a class with her, you won't be disappointed!

I always heard that Macarons where difficult to make! Muriel made it very easy! I had a blast that Saturday morning learning to make Lavender, Coconut/Chocolate and Roquefort Macarons. Yes, Roquefort Macarons for a salty appetizer! Greatest idea ever and delicious!
Generous, fun, informative, Muriel spend 3 hours with us teaching us her secret on how to make perfect Macarons. The private class of 6 is small enough to create a nice atmosphere and allow us to bond with our colleagues for the day. Team work was rewarded at the end of the day with the sharing of a nice bottle of wine sharing the "fruits" of our labor!

My wife and I decided to treat my mother to a Macaron class here as a 70th birthday gift. It was a great experience. Parisian Macarons are tricky to make but Muriel had lots of practical advice and all of us made tasty Macaron. I dare say they were better than those available at any of the professional bakeries in town. We will definitely make another batch on our own soon.

Muriel the instructor was great. She was very patient and gave just the right amount of help but let the students get the feel of everything. She is full of stories, enthusiasm, and information on all things French. It was a fun social time.

Apart from the classes, this little shop is a good source for French ingredients and treats that are hard to find anywhere else. There are also kitchen items and fun linens and decorations. Muriel selects just a few of her favorite wines to sell. Based on the one we tasted during the class I am confident to trust her choices.

Muriel has a wonderful shop and cooking class setup. I was able to host an in-home class for several of my husband's co-workers. Great fun and we all learned so much! My guests had a great time and we enjoyed a wonderful meal we prepared together.
