We went on a windy day and are afraid of heights......So it was terrifying. But the price was fair for a tourist attraction and the views were spectacular. It's nice that it is enclosed we were there at the beginning of December and they served bourbon (more expensive than the ride though).

We went on this at night as a family of four with a 14 year old and an 11 year old. My daughter and I are not afraid of heights and like adventure. My husband and son, not so much. We went around 4 times (I think it is usually only 3). Going at night provided awesome vibrant views of the city. The wind was whipping and you could hear it and feel it slightly. It was an exciting ride for my daughter and I. My husband and son were glad when it was over. I think it’s a great experience and would recommend.

On a spring afternoon walking along Seattle’s waterfront parallel to all the freeway construction work, we noticed a Ferris wheel off to our right at the end of pier 57 past all the restaurants and 50 foot-cedar totem pole.
Built in 2012 at a cost of $20 million, it weighs 170,000-pounds, and at 175 feet is the tallest Ferris wheel on the West Coast, it also extends 40 feet out over Elliott Bay. It has 42 climate-controlled gondolas, and one luxury VIP gondola, which has red leather seats and a glass floor. It takes 4 minutes to make one revolution and there are three revolutions in the ride. Unfortunately, we did not have time to wait for a ride, but will be back next time we are in town.

TIP: Buy your tickets on line to save time.:

We were trapped in an inferno. There was zero ventilation in the pod and we were sweating so bad that our shirts were soaked when we got off. Our one year old was drenched in sweat and screaming because he was so hot but we had no way of getting anyone’s attention that we were burning up. I would be so afraid for an older person getting on this thing and passing out from heat stroke. I tried contacting someone from the management company but haven’t heard back. Please be aware that once inside there is no way out or way to communicate that something is wrong.

Went on the Seattle Great Wheel, Line wasn't to long which was nice as it was really hot out. Once you get past the photo opp there is a little bar where you can get drinks and take them on the wheel with you they also come in souvenir cups. When getting on the Wheel if you sit on the left side of the table you will get views of the water and if you sit on the right you will get the views of the city.

I took the family for our first getaway since 2019 to Seattle. One of our stops was the Seattle Great Wheel. Situated on Miner’s Landing, otherwise known as Pier 57, the giant Ferris Wheel is hard to miss when traveling along the city’s western edge.

The wait for the ride was less than 10 minutes and the cars seat about 4 people. Once on, the ride spins relatively slowly to make your 3 revolutions. The only reason I am giving it a four dot review is because when the car we were riding in was at the apogee of the rotation you could feel the wind on the outside pushing and vibrating the ride. I have not experienced that before on a Ferris Wheel, maybe it’s because the ride is anchored to a wooden pier but overall I didn’t feel very stable while on the ride.

Just my personal opinion. I believe the ride has a very good safety record but if you are skittish about heights you may want to skip this one.

We paid for a VIP upgrade to ride in a glass bottom carriage which was supposed to include music, drinks, photos and T-shirt souvenirs. The speaker system was not working, they were out of stock on all T-shirt’s and they don’t even care if you’re blinking in the pictures that they’re taking or printing. The drinks were ok and the ride was fine, but don’t waste money on the extras.

Great attraction on the waterfront in Seattle especially on a sunny day. Beautiful views of ferries and sailboats on the bay and the beautiful Seattle skyline including the Space Needle. Currently due to Covid restrictions they are sanitizing each car between rides so it takes a little longer to load but they can load 4 cars at a time. Your are loaded by party and if there are only 2 people you have the car to yourself although you have to sit opposite each other for balance. Depending on how long the line is your ride may be shorter or longer. We were advised we would be doing 3 rotations once all the cars were full. It would have been nice to have more time but there was a line of people waiting. Once you do your rotations you do stopped at several levels while they are letting off passengers so you get some time to just look at the view from the higher level. All in all we had a great time and would recommend.

My husband and I rode the Seattle Great Wheel on our last trip to Seattle and had a lot of fun. We visited early in the day on a weekday and there was almost no line. We got a little gondola to ourselves and it was nice to experience it just the two of us. I'm a little iffy about heights but besides a little bit of rocking, it wasn't too bad. The view of the sound and the city were really nice! I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you find yourself nearby!

Your tickets are not tied to any date or time but get there right at opening to avoid a long line. Masks are still required. No outside food or beverage allowed but they sell drinks at entry. Your water bottle is ok and snacks in our backpacks weren’t confiscated. Strollers are left at the boarding platform and not allowed in the pods. There is air conditioning in the capsules. Views are great and you circle around 3-4 times in 20 minutes. Efficient loading and shade as you wait.
