No tours but the observation deck is open in the afternoon/evening
During this time, masks required inside except at the bar/tables up top. No tours are available and you can't buy tickets online so get there right at opening to secure a table (it opened at 3 pm on the day we went). You can go outside and enjoy the incredible views and then enjoy drinks inside.

    Lunch with a panoramic view
I call ourselves Seattle tourists in residence. We made a pact last month to explore our city as we live in the downtown neighborhood of Belltown. We went to lunch in a Tuesday at 2:30. As locals the trip up was discounted to $12 each. It's an informative guided elevator trip to the view landing. We walked around the covered and fenced top area surrounding the restaurant. Since January and post lunch for most, we had the place almost to ourselves. Attentive wait staff that's experienced with 3 years or more tenure. Martini and prosecco on point served with half dozen Dabob oysters (my favorite since small yet briny). The shrimp in the soba noodle salad were large and perfectly cooked. Not a fan of the texture of the noodles and the waiter adjusted final bill. Not asked for so a nice touch. My husband enjoyed his pepperoni flatbread pizza. Desserts to die for! Grand Marnier chocolate ice cream out of this world. The chocolate mousse cake decadent. Highly recommend!
Hi Thank you for the great review, I am so glad you enjoyed yourself. We have a great program for our local guest. The Rum Runner Membership gets you and a guest unlimited access for the year and 20% off your bill at the bar. It’s a great deal for any locals who want to make smith tower a regular spot. We hope to see you again! Cheers, David

    Amazing view and great service!!
We arrived around 4 and purchased tickets to go up to the observation area. Great view! We decided we wanted to have drinks and dinner there but weren’t ready to eat yet. We came back around 6:30 and put our names on waitlist for a table. We went and explored the city a bit and received a text when table available (about an hour later). Since we had already paid for the trip up, we didn’t have to pay a second time. We were able to just pay for dinner and drinks upstairs and enjoy the view again. We ordered a variety of apps and drinks/dessert (highly recommend the charcuterie, flatbread, and the pork potstickers. For drinks we ordered a few including the fogcutter and fuego nocturno (spicy and unique)! Great service and amazing view. Recommend the angel food cake and passion fruit cheesecake for dessert. Perfect evening in Seattle!

I hadn't heard of this place prior to visiting and hearing about it on a tour. When we went, expecting to just go up to the bar to have a drink, we had to purchase a ticket to go through the museum in order to get upstairs. That's a little bit of a trap. Cool history and vibe but not sure it was worth it when you can find other views of the city elsewhere. Service was good though.

A magnificent city view. A trendy, friendly place with a lot of history. Food and drink is a little pricey, but I always come here when I'm in Seattle since the ambience is wonderful and I totally enjoy it

Apparently, the Observatory area is where the Bar is and therefore you have to buy tickets just to get into the elevator to go to the bar. Also, two-hour wait if you don't pre-pay. The best part, a doorman that needs to find another job. He was a total reflection of the "we don't really want you here" vibe of Pioneer Square.

Went on a quiet Sunday afternoon. We were among just a handful of guests, so no wait for elevators or worries about crowding. Views were slightly hampered by wildfire smoke, but we enjoyed what we could see. Some exhibits need updating (ie names of sports venues have changed) but overall, it's a nice hour or 90 minute activity that affords you a whole new perspective on Seattle and environs. Just be prepared for the cost!

We didn't use the cafe/bar but it would be a nice spot to start or end a date, one could surmise.

Quick, self guided tour through a historic building. The top level restaurant / bar is a must visit for first timers in Seattle. A little pricey for entry, but amazing views and craft cocktails await!

The view was beyond impressive, food and drink very good but a heck of a price to ride an elevator to spend more money. We did witness wedding photos and a marriage proposal and it was nice to be out of the rain but had to wait 30 minutes for a table to ride the elevator. Go to the Space Needle, especially if you have a family.

As very limited time we choose this instead of the Space Needle to visit and so pleased that we did. It was the first skyscraper in Seattle and a very Art Deco building. Chinese style bar at the top with light food available. Good views from the top with descriptions of the buildings around.
Hours of opening on our visit not until 3 pm and then closes 10 pm. Not open Mondays or Tuesdays.

Someone recommended to stop by here for our first trip to Seattle. Well.. we did and I am so glad we did this. This was the original Sky scraper of Seattle and one of the tallest of it's time, so much history and at the end on top of the observatory there is a nice little bar. Great service, great drinks and a beautiful view. We had a couple of drinks and Ana (The bartender) was so nice, friendly and made some delicious drinks!

Great architectural ambiance, 35th floor panoramic views, and decent snack food make this vantage point far more authentic than the hyped Space Needle where every tourist must go. Low key and authentic. Highest building west of the Mississippi for many years at a mere 42 stories.

Iconic local historic monument with a charming vintage beauty. I live the elevators...early OTIS

If you're into architecture like I am this is a must. Otherwise, check it out if you're in the area but don't make a special trip
