Located in the same locations as the salmon ladder and Hiram Chittenden Locks which are all free to the public. Take a few photos, watch how the locks work, and salmons (when in season).

This was a very interesting stop. We got there at a perfect time, and were able to see both locks at work AND the a train cross over the train bridge. The salmon were running, and the viewing area was really cool to watch them...More

What is not to love about Ballard. Ok maybe it's more difficult to get to, but it has good food, nice boutiques. Worth it

I was able to explore the Ballard area on bicycle and on foot recently. Many historic places, most repurposed for current needs, made this an interesting place to tour and explore. Plaques on the buildings helped explain the significance of each place.

Ballard is a great neighbourhood and only 15 minutes by car from the hubbub of the city centre. It is well served by buses too. There are interesting shops and cafe's, quiet residential areas and nice places to walk by the shore. It is great...More

Great part of Seattle to visit. Great boutiques, restaurants and town to stroll through. Stopped by during the Farmers Market and the Seafood Festival. Really enjoyed both, was worth the trip. Great neighborhood.

This is a very cute community. Loved the relaxing atmosphere. Loved seeing the ships from Deadliest Catch. People were friendly and really nice. Definitely my favorite place in Seattle.

One does not have to make a special trip just for this neighborhood, but if one has a day then take in Ballard, Fremont, and the "U" District

I do not know those specifics. I would call the Mayflower directly to find out. September is a great month to visit. Hope you enjoy Seattle!
