Beautiful Volunteer Park is at the center of this wonderfully multi-faceted neighborhood, where Seattle's gay community and student population co-exist with older residents, historical mansions, up-scale restaurants and shops.

Used to be the "gay-borhood" of Seattle, but has kind of been taken over by tech workers. Still is a quirky, neighborhood where you can find many many different types of people. Very open and accepting place.

Cool neighborhood, lots of bars and artsy stores. The Jimi Hendrix statue is on the main avenue, smaller than expected. Go for a walk through or later for a night of drinking. Some excellent restaraunts in the area.

Came to visit my brother who recently moved into the area. Lots of great places to eat and drink. Particularly a fan of Elliott's book company! What a nice place to stay!
