We stayed across the street from the park. It was a family trip so the park offered multiple opportunities for us : Running paths, shady area for leisurely strolling, and a children's park. It is a beautiful park.

You can run, bike or walk around Green Lake. We prefer to take a leisurely walk and observe folks enjoying themselves: families, young couples, or old folks. This time we walked to commemorate a family member who could not join us this time. Loved the weather - the raindrops definitely found us; the highlight was to see real waves!

A lake with plenty of algae, a park with too many idiots, and walkers, bikers, and runners who have no respect for each other. Oh, did I mention the sunbathers who are obese and wearing bikinis?

Every big city has a large park - and in Seattle - this has to be the best!!
Make sure to go here at some point during each season, and at different times of the day. It takes on so many different vibes and looks!
Love the roughly 3 mile walk around the Lake - so much to see at any time and great for people watching of all kinds. We absolutely love coming here just to soak it all in, relax, and enjoy life. There are such a number of different venues around the Lake, for sunning, picnicking, playing basketball, kayaking, renting paddle boats, softball and soccer fields, and even a small little golf course at the south end. They even hold rowing races on the Lake! And then - so many great eateries within blocks of the Lake - and so much to explore! There are events held here all the time. You could come here every day and see & do something different! It is Seattle's NYC Central Park (albeit on a smaller scale)
If you are visiting from out of town, don't miss this wonderful park!

We love Green Lake! It's great to walk around, swim in, and bike! There's are also a lot of great restaurants and ice cream shops around the lake if you get hungry.

Green Lake Park is one of the most popular parks in the city. Lots and lots of people love to walk, run, ride a bike around the park. In the summer it's a place for swimming. They also have an indoor pool. There are also ball fields and tennis courts...but the big draw is the 3 mile walk/run/ride around the lake.

Green Lake Park is one of my favorite place here for walks around the lake all year round; for renting their equipment to go out on the water in summer; for the children's playground and the in-door swimming pool. It is one of the treasures of Seattle and I recommend it.

Because we had a VRBO nearby we decided to check out Green Lake. It is definitely a nice-sized oasis in the midst of the city. I saw it described as Seattle's version of New York's Central Park. Not exactly except for the fact it is in the city. This was a very large lake with a walking/cycling path around the circumference.

We walked only a short ways around and then sat on the cement steps which lead into the lake.

There were two very large wharves one with a diving board.

There is a small watercraft rental on the lakeshore. We watched paddle boarders and other than that the lake was very quiet before noon.

We parked for free on a the major street surrounding the lake.
