This shop is a must for passionate mystery lovers, such as myself. Set below street level in quaint quarters, it caters to the true mystery buff carrying every genre from crime classics to hard boiled detective, to light cozies, and so much more. The personnel are well versed in their inventory and will happily talk with you about their favorite mystery authors and books. As I was traveling and didn't want to tote 5 books home on the plane, they gladly offered to mail them to me.I could easily have spent several hours there if time had allowed!

If you love a good mystery, be sure to stop into The Seattle Mystery Bookstore on Yesler between 1st and 2nd ave. You will find the most helpful, knowledgeable people about books in town and they can also steer you towards the best place to get a bite to eat or site to visit. Ask Adele about the next hottest book coming out of Scandinavia and be sure not to miss their book signings. A great place to meet your favorite author!

Seattle Mystery Bookshop was a place I always visited when in Pioneer Square. The employees are extremely well-read and very knowledgable regarding mystery, science fiction and thrillers. While they have downsized somewhat, the shop is still full of weed-loved books. I miss this place as I could always find a book I wanted whether I knew it or not! But I visit whenever I return to Seattle.

I love books and mysteries so this was up my alley. There’s a coffee and great independent bookstore to hangout. If you’re in the mood for coffee or books, come here.

We happened to be walking towards the underground walking tour in downtown and came across this book shop. The selection of crime fiction and mysteries is unbelievable! Literally anything you could want. The owners were there, and they were so knowledgeable and friendly. They helped my sister find some books she'd been looking for and answered all of her questions. They had some very good deals as well. The best part of the shop was how well curated everything was. The displays were cohesive. The staff recommendations were great. Three of us bought quite a few books as well as a souvenir mug. If you like books, stop by and support this local bookshop. It's excellent!
