Icons of fondly-remembered Seattle clutter most every corner of MOHAI. As Seattle's primary general history museum, it can seem slightly disjointed and oddly eclectic, but the city it represents also was built by mumble-jumbles of semi-conflicting characters and incidents. Plan your trip around a visit to the nearby VIRGINIA-V steamship, the Center for Wooden Boats and a picnic watching the... More

At least this attraction was not crowded, has a lot of interesting history of the area through the years very well laid out. Hardly any tourists here so you have the place to yourself.

The Museum of History and Industry has relatively new digs right next to the wooden boat museum which is yet to have opened. You can, though, see many of the wooden boats in the bay right next to the museum. They're really beautiful and I believe the next building that will house the wooden boats will be ready soon. Back... More

The last time I visited MOHAI was in it's old location by the University. Bit curious to see the new location by Lake Union. Wow! I don't remember spending as much time at the old location as I did here. Quite a bit of history and information to absorb. I mainly skimmed through the reading and still took about 3... More

MOHAI , Located near Lake union is worth visiting if we can spare a couple of hours to know the History of Seattle from wilderness to world city. There is an entry fee.

This museum isn't so much about industry but more about the history of Seattle. It is in the old Naval Armory and well laid out. If you have kids, there is much for them to do on the first floor, but not as much hands on as you progress through the exhibits. I do think that this museum is on... More

The information about the history of Seattle was interesting. The exhibits about innovation focused a lot on Boeing, Microsoft and Amazon and especially the stuff about Amazon came off a bit propaganda-like sometimes. Still interesting, but guess who is sponsoring it?

My second time here and it was better the second time, even though the first was good. You get a great feeling for how much Seattle has accomplished: lumber, Boeing, ship building, The Klondike, Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks, and so much more. Well worth 3 hours to enjoy the museum and the ships outside. Parking is an issue so be prepared... More

We found this museum to be fun & interesting. We were fascinated about the development of the Seattle area & how their attitude towards various types of industries has changed over time. We were also interested in all the businesses that have gotten started in Seattle and/or based in Seattle. Highly recommend this museum.

Thank Chris J
