Located off of Madison St in east Seattle (Metro bus #11) is the outstanding Washington Park Arboretum. Covering about 250 acres, one finds numerous walking trails, access to Union Bay and Lake Washington, plus tree species from around the world. The "Arb" has some of...More

A simply lovely place to spend and afternoon. So many trees. If you want to learn about trees or just spend a peaceful time in nature this place has it all.

I love the arboretum. I think my favorite time to go is during the fall when all the colors are changing.

Nice place for a walk among the trees in a well kept mini forest. This is not a horticultural garden, almost no flowering specimens except for the azalea walk in the early spring. The selection trees are outstanding but there are few labels to identify...More

Although beautiful, the Japanese Garden was smaller than I anticipated since there is so much hype about it in the city. We actually found the Kubota Gardens more expansive. They each had their beauty though.

We had a few hours to kill, so we decided to stop at the Washington Park Arboretum. There are miles of trails to wander. So many gorgeous trees and plants. I do wish they had more signs throughout so that we knew what we were...More

Other than being a great place for a pleasant walk, this was a disappointment, because nothing was in bloom in mid July. There are miles of paths, and one needs to pay attention to the map to maintain awareness of where one is. A few...More

I must say, this has been my least favorite on my first trip to Seattle, which is to say the whole experience has been wonderful! The grounds were very well kept and it was just a nice pleasant walk. I'd go again.

There's a very limited amount of parking inside the park. The largest lot is at the Japanese Tea Garden. There's another one over by the info center. The last "big" one is just north of the info center but may be closed... More
