In West Seattle you must drop down to Alki. There could be a festival or beach volley ball going on. Several coffee shop and small restaurant. Even a brewery. People watching. You can do it all in a laid back small feeling place.

Originally we were going to have an engagement there but changed it to Kerry Park for the iconic view of Seattle. We decided to take the water taxi and check out this beach anyway. It is some sand and lots of rock so I am...More

Loved it. You can walk or rest in a restaurant in front of the ocean. If you walk towards Seattle, you will have a gorgeous view on the buildings, towers and skyline. Amazing!

I'm sorry, but this area reminds me of California, but in a good way. So quaint, laid back and scenic with some interesting people hanging out. Cool little open air cafés and restaurants, great little beach with an awesome view. I've never had a whole...More

We visited this beach on a cloudy day, but it was a restful spot to talk and walk and watch the birds.

I am biased because I lived here as a child, but even with all the changes the avenue has seen, this beach is still my favorite in the Seattle area. If you want a close parking spot you have to get an early start. Be...More

The beach is about 20 minutes from downtown. Parking can be frustrating, but once you find a spot the rest of the day is a breeze. There are some good restaurants in the area and it is an excellent place to get in a walk...More

Nice beach to relax, play volley ball, etc. wasn’t great for swimming when I visited - very rocky, water was ver cold, and there was a lot of seaweed. Still a nice relaxing day at the beach nonetheless without having to drive too far out...More

What a lovely place to relax, breathe in the fresh air from the water and stroll along the sand or walkways. A charming place to stroll, wet your feet in the water, splash, rent a bike or people watch. Perhaps take a picnic lunch or...More

The ferry dock is down near pioneer square so I’d take a bus to nearer the ferry terminal. Then hop in the ferry to West Seattle. Passengers only. D

Technically dogs aren’t allowed on any Seattle public beaches. In reality many people bring their dogs to the parks and beaches and if leashed aren’t tickets or a problem. I was recently with a dog owner walking on Alki. We... More
