Saw some seals

Nice beach on the quieter side of Seattle. When we parked we could hear barking straight away, this turned out to be 4 seals on the beach playing. Nice spots are to be found here... read more

Well, this place is a pretty walk around in the summer but FORGET it in fall or winter. BRRRRRR!!!! Summer and late spring will catch many roller bladers, restaurants are packed and people out in the water but - it's not a real 'beach' if you have ever lived in CA you will be dissapointed!

Even when it's not "beach" weather it's really nice to come over to Alki Beach. Cool fall days are great for either walking on the beach or possibly on the walkway that goes along the beach. Great views of the Olympics, the water, and the city. Nice place to take friends who are visiting.

The view of Downtown Seattle from here was really nice. There were plenty of places to eat all along here. We watched the fog roll in over the Sound early the first morning we were there which was really cool.

It was a beautiful day, not to crowded, I'm sure it can be at times. The beach was clean, bathrooms easily accessible.

It was lovely and warm and I wanted a day sunbathing. There is a ferry across to West Seattle then you walk, about 30 mins or take a shuttle to the beach. It was not crowded, did have sand and there were toilets and of course lots of eating places including TWO fish and chip shops!! A lovely day

We rented a lovely VRBO near the beach. You can walk to the beach and restaurants. Great views of downtown and the Space Needle.

If you want to walk, bike, roller blade, etc along the water, then Alki beach in West Seattle is your place. Miles and miles of both a walkway and a path set aside for bikes and roller blades perched on the sea wall above the beach make for a wonderful way to exercise and take in the sights. Beach itself... Alki Beach gets crowded at peak times but that's really only a problem for parking. Probably smart to just take a cab or Uber to get there, otherwise you'll end up lurking like a shark for people to leave, or parking at least a mile inland within one of the many cute little neighborhoods. Walking or biking, you'll enjoy spectacular... More

The ocean is horribly dirty the sand is filled with cigaret butts, plastic, debri and more yucki stuff!! The benches were clean to sit, there was plenty of parking, neat little shops, bicycle renting , charming. I would like to see people take more interest in sifting the sand of debri like we do in Maui
