You won't find gold here, nor gardens, but with all the sand, sun and surf on this lovely beach, you won't even notice.

Golden Gardens is still a must see place for visitors to our 'neck of the woods'. I took my grandchildren down there (and luckily found a decent parking place) to walk along the water, find shells, skip rocks and have a snack. The downside was...More

I visited this park three years ago and loved it, but it has become very crowded. If you have young children there is a wonderful play structure, but if you are just going as an adult it can be a bit much. At high tide...More

This is an excellent Seattle "thing" to do. Arrive by 5pm to get decent parking. Park all the way down in the last lot if you can opposite a stand of trees and a brisk building with the bar and bathrooms. Then, grab your chairs,...More

Not much to say. This is a fabulous public beach park especially at sunset. Great scenery, when there’s fewer people it’s quite serene.

It is all dependent on the tides. Low tides, you will find tidepools and it is safer for the kids. High tides you will probably not find tidepools

Parking on Weekends at Golden Gardens Park in Seattle (5 Replies)
I will be meeting up with some folks Saturday morning at 4 am in Golden Gardens Park in Seattle. I am coming from Portland. I plan to bring my 17 foot travel trailer (pulling it with a my SUV). I looked at the parking log using GOOGLE maps and it looks like there is a decent amount of parking for me to occupy several parking spots with my SUV and trailer. I see there is also a turn around at the end of the parking for me to loop around to get out with my SUV attached to the trailer. I plan to...More

Yes:) As you saw on Google, there are spots long enough for your trailer. The ones I have noticed though are not pull through parking spots, but rather are up more like a super long regular parking spot, if that matters to you. Getting in and out of the parking lot is pretty easy. As for availability of parking, yes at 4am you will be way before the crowds. You might call to double check the hours though. Enjoy, it is a beautiful area!

We are family of five ( two adults, one child 10 yrs and two seniors ) visiting Seattle for the first time in third week of July. We will be driving from Vancouver in the morning or early morning hoping to be in north Seattle based hotel ( in shoreline ) around lunch time. We have that day and another full day ( 1.5 day and 2 nights ) and may be if needed the third day until lunch before we drive back to BC and eventually drive back to Alberta. I have several questions and would really...More

2) Golden Gardens and Alki best fit your 'sandy beach' request. There are also a couple nice ones (small) on Lake Washington at Madison Park and Madrona Park.
