About
The Amazon Spheres are a trio of majestic glass domes built as part of the Amazon headquarters in Seattle. These spheres house over 40,000 plants from across the world, a 60-foot-tall vertical garden that has 200 different species of plants, a massive fish tank, plus meeting and workspaces.
The spheres are only open for public viewing on two days of the month; the free slots snap up fast so try to reserve your spot as soon as they become available (15 days before the date of viewing). Otherwise, you can try to spot the Seattle Spheres on a city tour of Seattle—they're hard to miss!

- BoutipGatineau, Canada749 contributionsInteresting architectureNice glass spheres with interesting architecture. The opening hours are very limited so it os hard to actually visit the place from the inside. Worth a detour if you like architecture and ant to try the Amazon Go store.Visited August 2019Written March 19, 2020
- StefJaxTampa, Florida2,392 contributionsBetter than I thought! These were actually really cool and they were a bit better than I thought they would be. As in, there was more to do there than I thought. There is a lovely restaurant that is open to the public, a speakeasy that opens in the afternoon and you can go inside to see the atrium BUT only on certain days or with a pre-scheduled tour!Visited October 2019Traveled with friendsWritten February 25, 2020
- Felix W2 contributionsInterestingVisited on a rainy winter day and it was the perfect escape from the dreary outside. Nice walk in there with the family. Since visitors has to sign up to visit, you won't feel that it's overcrowded. There is a cafe inside with good coffee and ample seatings.Visited January 2020Written January 17, 2020
- Luv2TravelFarNWideAtenas, Costa Rica1,325 contributionsImpressive architectureThese spheres are architecturally impressive; interesting to read about how they were constructed. Getting tickets to tour inside is nearly impossible -- tours on 1st & 3rd Saturdays of the month via reservations which can only be booked 15 days in advance. And the tickets are gone in no time. You can still do virtual tours on line. Also free.Visited August 2021Written August 26, 2021

- Terry W237 contributionsEnjoyed the Spheres!Interesting viewing of Amazon’s “arboretum” all for its employees and open to the public two Saturdays a month with reservations. We were lucky that we were visiting Seattle on a Saturday open for public viewing. It’s free. It’s beautiful. It’s four/five floors filled with plants, trees, flowers, etc. from around the world in a variety of settings. It was an hour well-spent. By the way, parking is free in the nearby lot on Saturday!Visited June 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten June 22, 2022
- Gary TAustin, Texas1,045 contributionsPretty amazingWe visited with an Amazon employee during Covid and it wasn't crowded. They have done a really amazing job of displaying plant life from Southeast Asia and South America. Masks required and it takes about an hour and half the see all four levels.Visited July 2021Written July 30, 2021
- RosiSeattle, Washington240 contributionsGreat place if you love plantsThe Spheres are definitely worth a quick stop, especially if it is your first time in Seattle. Or not the first one: I work a block away, and it is always a pleasure to drop in. The past few days, it's been a bit busier than usual, because of a rare species (Morticia, aka the corpse flower), blooming - which occurs only every 5-10 years and lasts for up to 48 h. Outside of the excitement around this event, the place offers some tranquility amidst lush greenery. If relevant, there is an inconspicuous bar in the building (Deep Dive), too. For non-Amazonian employees, a ticket reservation is required ahead of the visit.Visited July 2023Traveled on businessWritten July 13, 2023
- TravelingAmosNew Jersey665 contributionsBezos' ballsThis landmark is one of the few indications that you're in the midst of buildings that comprise Amazon's headquarters. While I have a Prime account and my family orders a lot through Amazon, I have mixed feelings about its effects on small businesses and communities across the US. The Amazon 4-Star store is nearby and worth visiting. It is ironic that the mammoth online retailer has a brick and mortar store after wiping out so many of them.Visited August 2021Written September 14, 2021

I was very impressed by the Amazon spheres. Although there are 3 spheres conjoined, when you are in there, you are very immersed in the ecosystem and don't always realize you are transitioning between spheres. There are multiple levels and you can climb right up to the canopies at the top of the dome. There are some fun features for kids and the young at heart, like a sort of pirate lookout high in the canopies, a mechanically operated shade, and paths winding through the plant beds. There is an impressive living wall which is covered by rainforest plants. The temperature is pleasantly warm, but not too much. There are one or two fish tanks. There is a cafe. Could easily pass the time here, enjoying the greenery and feeling warm. There is a lot of open space with chairs and tables as well as the planting - Amazon workers can actually work here at the tables and desks. It's really remarkable to have biodomes like these in the heart of Seattle. I was very impressed by the well maintained spheres, the fact that there were so many staff on hand to answer questions, and the fact that the horticultural upkeep is excellent and unobtrusive.

A friend who works at Amazon took us in on a weekday afternoon. The setting was nice, and it was good to see a wide variety of plants. I am not sure if they limit the numbers of attendees, but when we were there it was not very crowded which was nice, since it gave us more room to enjoy the plants at a more leisurely pace. It was a pleasant experience overall and the setting was nice. Many of the plants were labelled; unfortunately it is hard to figure out which was the plant in question based on just the name. There were lots of guides who were quite willing to answer questions but there must be a more effective way of educating the visitors about the plants. Overall it was a rather enjoying experience

My friend and I were taking a leisurely walk and came upon the Amazon spheres by accident. Unfortunately the spheres were not open at the time we came across them. If you have time, try and visit. They look very interesting.

We're trying to book an Amazon HQ Tour, which we believe includes the Spheres, but there's never availability. Anybody know if these tours are still operated, and when they'll offer more availability? Thanks!

I got (free) Tickets for the tour but they are sold out 2 months ahead. They offer from Time to Time new availibility but you have to be fast so better set yourself a reminder and take a look on the Homepage every day like I did

It depends on how long the voucher can stay, in order to enter the building you have to have a voucher and you have to stick with them, so if they have to leave then you will have to leave with them. Hope this was helpful.
What is the address of the main Amazon Headquarters Building in Seattle? We'd just like to drive by to see it (we do most of our online shopping on Amazon, love it & would really like to see
