Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all...

This tour is an example of a genius marketing: create something from nothing. Yes, it has some interesting historic facts but it was absolutely not worthy to walk through dirty and disgusting basements. Almost stepping on a fat rat didn't help either. Also, the tour guide, an Afro-American person, was way over acting and annoying. Seattle is an amazing city... More

A unique way of finding out the history of early Seattle. Our party was fascinated by the whole tour and our guide was very good as well.

Ok, this is a really touristy thing to do, but I will admit, it was better than I expected, largely due to the excellent guides Kelly and Besty. They were very entertaining and it was neat to see exactly what the underground is and how they reconstructed Seattle after the fire. Be advised that there is a lot of walking... More

This is a business lesson on how to make money from nothing.!!! :-) The ticket is very expensive. That said, learn about history of Seattle in an hour from a different perspective. The tour takes you to underground portions of three buildings in Pioneer Square. Old objects have been kept in original fashion. Guides do perform their task very well... More

Gives some super interesting history of Seattle in a very unique way. Our family enjoyed it and it was worth the price. Our tour guide, Ally, was knowledgeable and funny. Definitely recommend!

A Seattle tourist thing to do. Interesting with history of Seattle. Though a bit pricey, a good thing to do once. Our group had about 20, which was much too big for one guide, & it was hard to hear him when you are in the back. We did not tip due to this & price of tour.

We really didn't know what to expect upon entering. Dean made the tour both historically fascinating as well as extremely funny. Highly recommend for visitors and locals alike.

I learned so much about Seattle on this your. I was amazed to learn the streets were built up about two stories. You will walk underground in what was the original street level and be exposed to original artifacts. This is a real history lesson about the city. Don't miss this, especially if your interested in history.

Not at all what I expected. It's a tour around the neighborhood (above and below ground) and very interesting. The history of it all was amazing and brought light to the city of Seattle. Knowledge is power.

I have been on this tour twice now. The first time I liked it much more than the second. Not sure why. However, I think that it is a must tourist attraction to see in Seattle before it is no longer available. Lots of changes happening to downtown Seattle waterfront and we may not have it any longer. You will... More
