Bill Speidel's Underground Tour is a leisurely, guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. It’s history with a twist! The tour begins inside Doc Maynard’s Public House, a restored 1890s saloon. Following a short intro, we’ll walk through historic Pioneer Square to three different sections of Underground—about three blocks in all...

We enjoyed our tour this past weekend. We purchased tickets for 10am tour and appeared to beat the rush that morning for tickets. Waited in bar area and enjoyed a "man Mosa" created by bartender while waiting for tour to begin. Ally did the introduction and our group broke up into two tour groups. We ended up with Kelly's group... More

This tour was great and the guides knowledgeable and added a bit of humour... groan-tastic in some cases :) We did the standard tour which lasts about an hour, we didn;t book ahead of time and despite things being busy (loads of Blue Jays in town!) we only had to wait an hour and half to get on the next... It was a great tour with Lisa as our guide. She was entertaining, informative, and awesome at pointing out all of the little things and answering our questions about history.

Took a large high school group from Atlanta on a private tour with Lisa as part of our Seattle trip. Fascinating stories and such an animated tour guide! Highly recommend tour and Lisa! She is awesome! Thank you Lisa!

Disclaimer - if you are allergic to mold, don't take this tour. When we first went "down", the smell was the first thing I noticed, but the tour was fun, educational, enlightening and interesting. The history is delivered with a sense of humor and the stories of Madame Lou and her "seamstresses" are delivered in such a way that you... More

Good walk through history with an amusing guide. Clay walked us through the tour and we had a ton of laughs. Seattle has very amusing beginnings and the tour is very popular with visitors. Took about 90 minutes. Tours leave on the hour and start with a drink in the bar. I'd call this a Must Do attraction of visiting... More

Our tour began with a humorous and informative presentation on the history of Seattle's early days. The tour group visited several old Seattle underground spots and learned the cultural, historical and engineering significance of Seattle's early days. Being in the old underground areas feels like a little adventure, like seeing secret places. I was particularly interested to learn that the... More

Great idea and interesting topic. Actual tour is more about the hired actors having a captive audience rather than an extended trip through Seattle's underground. The tour visits a couple of so so underground areas and by some remarkable coincidence ends up in a very large gift shop. Interesting, but I wouldn't make it a priority.

Kim our guide was bouncy and full of energy. Although the group was large Kim projected well and kept us laughing. Her explanations of where we were and what happened and by whom was wonderful. The story about seamstress was delightful. Great experience and understanding of city.

I really enjoyed this tour. I believe Ally was our tour guide...looonng braid and an amazing sense of humor! The only tough part was there was so many people on the tour it was tough to herd everyone. Regardless, she did a great job answering questions and making sure everyone could hear her
