We didn't see this water fall close up. On our way to Yukon Suspension Bridge, we made a stop to see this beauty on the opposite side of the Klondike Highway. From afar I can see it more complete and much better. The water flowing from Goat Lake to Skagway River, the water falls do look like a pitchfork. Not too far from the falls, I also saw a man made snake,  (a pipeline visible from across the valley, where we were) I asked our guide and driver, he said that is a hydroelectric project, providing electricity to the community of Skagway. That is an unique site to see.

These Pitchfork Falls can be viewed on the highway from Skagway to Whitehorse. It is located about a half hour from Skagway. There is a pull off so you can get out and view the falls, which are on the other side of the river. There are no amenities at the stop. The falls are quite long as they cascade down the hillside.

These falls are visible from the White Pass & Yukon Railway train journey on the way to the top. Spectacular scenery, keep your eyes peeled every minute of the journey.

We stopped to view these falls which are spectacular.... They derive a long way up the mountain and resemble a pitchfork as they spread out at the bottom.

We enjoyed this stop. We saw so many really wonderful waterfalls. This one was just not quite as spectacular as some of the others. It was still worth the stop.

We hired a car from Skagway and drove the Yukon Highway to Emerald Lake.
We spotted The Pitchfork Falls on the outward journey so, on the return leg, we stopped. Spectacular waterfall with parking alongside the road. Pity it had started raining when we stopped but worth the detour.

Whether you see it by bus or train, it's a beautiful sight to see. Nature is all around you and this is a dynamic waterfall to see. Along the way, you will see several smaller falls and the trees are so majestic. From a child to a senior, this is a must on your trip.

Instead of the White Pass & Yukon Railroad tour, we decided to rent a car and drive from Skagway up to the Yukon Territory. This gave us the opportunity to stop whenever we wanted to take pictures. This is the first of many beautiful waterfalls in the area. It's not huge, but a very pretty waterfall. We happened to be there taking pictures as the WP&Y RR train went by, so we took a picture.

This was our first stop on the Skagway/Yukon discovery tour that we took. We were fascinated by the beauty around the Pitchfork Falls! Definitely great photo opportunity and extremely refreshing!

You can see it best from the road, it is located on the hillside above the train tracks. Obviously runs the best in the early season when the snow is melting.
