We had a great time on this charter. We had been forewarned that perhaps the fishing would be catch/release, which it was, and it was a little slow, but that was ok. Ken was well-informed about the area and gave us a great commentary. Casey, his crew, did a great job keeping the fishing poles in line, taking care of any issues, and keeping Ken in line :) The only thing to know is that travelers should bring their own snacks. Ken had a few granola bars, but by the time we returned from our 2:00 - 8:00 trip, we were quite hungry. They also have water, hot water, and coffee, but if pop is desired, bring it yourself. Although we would have loved to have caught more fish, we have fished enough to know some days are like that. In the process, however, we learned about crab pots, the waterfalls, porpoises, and eagles. If we are in Skagway, we would definitely return to Never Monday Charters - and hope that Casey is still on the crew!

We’re spending 7 days in Alaska on a cruise and doing excursions at all our ports. Captain Ken has been one of my favorites! We watched him feed eagles!!! We got amazing pictures and videos. Thanks Captain Ken!!

was looking forward to a fishing trip in Skagway, sent email to book and was told there was availability on that day and that they would call so that i could pay for trip. No call from Never Monday Charters for over a week and when i called to follow up I was told that they were fully booked and to contact another fishing group. No apology and no help was provided by Never Monday Charters. So this is the example of Skagway hospitality. I am disgusted with the lack of service and effort Never Monday Charters provided, no apology, no help. Totally disgusted.

Response from Ken G, Owner at Never Monday Charters
Responded Aug 8, 2019
Hi Philip, I’m sorry you feel you had a negative experience with our booking. We are a small local business that consists of two people. The Deckhand and the Captain. Our days typically consist of a full 14 hours of fishing alone and we get back to emails as fast as we can. Our services are in high demand right now so we do our very best to keep up with all of the bookings. Sometimes things will slip through the cracks and unfortunately your request for a reservation was one of those things. Never Monday Charters has yet to have a negative review and it’s unfortunate that you are the first one but we understand your disappointment in not getting to experience our one of a kind excursion. Best of luck to you,

Captain Ken and Casey gave us a great day in Skagway! There were six of us on the boat (five who fished) and every person caught one king salmon the day we went out. We would have liked to catch a little more, but hey....what are you going to do? Captain Ken was great with showing the guys what do to. He helped bring in the fish with his net when they got close to the boat and allowed us to take pictures with them before releasing them back into the water. Not only did we catch fish, but a whale swam right near our boat! Also, Ken gets the eagles to fly right near the boat. So cool! The scenery is worth the trip alone. Just beautiful! Thanks Ken and Casey for a great day in Alaska!

We visited Skagway early July 2018 & I had booked a fishing trip with the Never on Monday Charter. FYI - I booked this trip about 9 months in advance & as I recall the charter does not schedule trips through the cruise lines. Also important: from our cruise ship to the Never On Monday charter boat was less than 500’ away, so not a big walk from dock to dock. Captain Ken, owner & skipper, gives you a trip that is much more than fishing. I’m going to stop and tell you this, you will probable get to meet Edith & Archy or Fred & Wilma ... but I don’t want to spoil the suprise. We went King Salmon fishing, I got two nice fish up for photos & both of us had bites & nibbles most of the day. Alaska had limited fishing to catch & release, but the catch is the fun part anyway. We booked a four hour trip, leaving around 730am & returning about 1130am. Beautiful sunrise with the mountains. We had great weather with a light jacket to start removing later leaving a pullover sweater. Captian Ken has the boat set up with a nice cabin with complimentary coffee, hot chocklet, some snacks, & a clean bathroom ( head). With the captain is a crew member to assist you when the captian is running the boat ... & you can go up in the bridge for a better view. $’s - the Never on Monday charter is not the least expensive, but when I return I will book again without hesitation. Check out the Never on Monday website for choice of trips & get booked now for your 2019 stop in Skagway.
