We took this tour last summer and the kids still say it was a highlight of the whole Alaska Cruise trip. He had a whole day planned and we just loved every bit of it. From the husky puppies to the geocaching to the waterfalls and the history. We loved it all!!

We came off a cruise ship and had booked Kevin for a day tour up into Canada. He was on time, the van was clean and comfortable. Kevin was very knowledgeable, stopped wherever we wanted, took us to many of the "off the beaten path" places. It was very foggy up into the mountains, but he was an excellent driver and I never had cause to be concerned. We all had a wonderful time. There were 10 in our tour and it was a great day. I highly recommend Kevin if you want to see the beauty of the area, and especially if you are cruising but want to get away from a ship's tour.

We did the 7 hour tour into the Yukon Territory with Kevin, and he was wonderful with all 7 members of my family (ranging in age from 8 to 77). This is not a slick, pre-scripted tour, so if you're looking for that type of experience, this may not be for you. But we found it so much more enjoyable than those types of tours. Kevin is an incredibly nice guy who introduces you not only to unbelievable scenery, but he also gives you a glimpse into the people who live in that area and the type of community they have. He made sure we had plenty of opportunities for my daughters (ages 8 and 10) to get out of the van and work off some energy - including a short trek through the Carcross "Desert" that they really enjoyed. My older daughter said that for her, the highlight of our entire Alaska cruise was playing with the husky puppies at Caribou Crossing. And Kevin was always quick to offer assistance to my mother, who has some mobility issues. We were lucky to find him, and I can't think of a better way to spend the day in the Skagway area.

After our other guide ended up sick, Kevin voluntarily stepped in from another company to help a friend in the business. He did an amazing job and took us to see everything we hoped to see. He was great with our two young kids and demonstrated extra gestures along the way to help make it extra fun for the kids. He was also very understanding when unexpected family needs came up. I would highly recommend him for your family's personal tour.

Kevin was waiting for us right outside the exit to the cruise ships area, exactly as planned and right on time. He is a super nice guy who really knows a lot about the area. He is also a volunteer fireman and a volunteer EMT, so you know you're in great hands. My understanding is that he will customize your tours to suit whatever you prefer. We were a family of five adults and four kids ages 4-8, and after getting his suggestions, we pretty much let him lead the way. Our first stop was a mush dog camp where the kids could play with the puppies and the dogs. I mention that this was our first stop because it was also the farthest away, which was actually the smartest thing about having a private tour guide like Kevin. He was smart enough to get us out there as literally the very first customers at a place that would see 600 people that day. Right as the big tour buses from the cruise were pulling in, we were leaving. As we worked our way back the two hours, Kevin had interesting stops every 15 or 20 minutes, with a great lunch spot about half way....and we were just in front of everybody else the entire time. For us, who always try to avoid big tour type situations but still want to see the best places...this could not have been better. The mush camp was in Canada, which is also sort of fun crossing the border both ways. We also stopped at Emerald Lake, some crazy desert in the mountains, the town of Carcross, and a bunch of other summit views, a waterfall...it's literally like driving through a postcard. Oh...and we saw bears...twice! The first time was two crossing the road and he turned us around and we were able to watch them from the car until the headed off into the woods. The next time a big black bear was just sitting off the side of the road in some grass munching flowers, and we were able to pull off and observe and take pictures. Again, Keven had a lot of information...including the obvious about never feeding wildlife, staying in the car, etc. All in all, if you are going to do a tour while you are in Skagway, I can't see how you could do much better than Klondike Kevin.
