Mike our tour guide and driver , made this trip to the Yukon Dog Sleigh and Mush Camp so much fun. He went out of his way to assist a multi cultural group of people relax, laugh at his jokes yet he told us all the history stuff too. He went the extra mile , helped with photos and stopped at good viewing points . He made sure we got value for our bucks . Thanks Mike , keep smiling 😊

As a solo traveler, I am very careful of booking excursions. I don’t like large 50-75 passenger buses tours as they are hard to be personal and intimate. I came to Skagway on the last cruise of the season and I’m glad I did booked an excursion with Skagway Tours.

Mike was our tour guide and gave me one of the best tours I’ve had in my life. Honestly he’s in the wrong profession!! He takes amazing photos! I’ve attached one below. He allowed me to memorialize this trip through photos with me in the scenery. Since I travel alone, that’s hard to do without a good selfie game. He took us to all the great photo spots and made great “non-dad” jokes. He talked about growing up and living in Skagway which is always a plus. His experience living in the places we were touring made me want to move asap!

I highly recommend this company and the Winter Wonderland Yukon tour. The tour was mid size, 30 or so people, the bus was heated, and the bus very comfortable.

We were referred here by some family friends and it was a wonderful day-trip for us. Rusty was a great guide and very knowledgeable about the area and always encouraged questions from the group. He made sure we saw all the sights, including the bear that just happened across the road in front of us, didn't want us to miss a thing! Also was very conscientious about the time so we were on time getting back to the ship!

We took the bus tour of the Yukon with our driver Mike. He did an awesome job keeping us on a good schedule to avoid the crowds so we were able to get the most benefit from our trip. We saw so much wildlife and learned a great deal about the area. Wonderful experience!

We did the Yukon Sled Dogs & White Pass Summit Experience and Rusty was the tour guide/driver. It was the most amazing experience and Rusty and his 2 fellow ride along guides did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome and stoping at some of the most amazing views. The Sled dogs were great and the demonstration of all the gear needed was very interesting. I can't say enough about how well Rusty did.

We booked this trip last minute because the kids wanted to see the sled dogs and we were completely surprised how much we enjoyed the entire 4 hour tour. We were a large group of 10 ranging from 2 to 65 and everyone had a blast. Noah was informative and funny and we were able to make so many stops the time flew by. The dog sled summer camp was the highlight of our 10 year olds Alaska trip. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Skagway.

The new tour guide Rachel was knowledgeable and friendly. She spoke clearly n often to make the experience worth it. Had a blast learning all she knew about the town. They sold their tickets a little further from port for cheaper and more proceeds going to the town.

I had a great time with Rachel as my guide. She told us all about the area and would take our pictures for us! She made us feel very welcomed! I highly recommend taking this tour over the train as you get to make several stops. The river at the suspension bridge was beautiful and I got to see the Alaskan state bird. I wouldn’t have seen that if I taken the train.

The scenery on the bus ride along the white pass to the dog camp was amazing and our driver gave us continuous information about the area. Once at the dog camp The presentation about the equipment and gear required to take on a long dog sled journey was very interesting. We were excited about the dog sled ride but found it to be quite underwheming. There was no sled on wheels to give you the feel of a true experience. You hopped in a Jeep with the dogs hooked up to it and rode around a few roads for 15 mins. That was it. I had envisioned a more realistic experience and definitely longer ride.

After the ride we were able to sit and hold a few 3 week old pups.

On the way back to Skagway, the driver stopped for us to take photos at the Yukon sign and Alaska sign.

We apologize if you were under the impression that you’d be in an actual “dog sled”. Because it is not on snow, that isn’t possible in that area. As the guide informs everyone that rides, there is a reason they do it in the ATV and not a sled. They match the dogs’ speed as they pull you to ensure they are getting the exercise they need for the upcoming winter racing season. They do not run the dogs more than 15 minutes because these are Alaskan sled dogs who are most comfortable in 20 degrees Celsius and can overheat easily. We appreciate your honest opinion.

We set up a last minute tour to do the dog sledding with Skagway Tours. Some of the family’s helicopter tours in Juneau had cancelled because of weather and being able to do the dogs was our consolation for the disappointed children with us. Claudia was so helpful when she booked it with us. Then, unfortunately, our tour just before this one went overtime and made us late for the dog sleds. We were all so disappointed! Claudia and Daniel bent over backwards to zip us out to see the dogs. The tour was fantastic and we are all so appreciative of their understanding and personal touch!
