Skagway's "The Days of '98 Show with Soapy Smith"! - The Longest Running show in the north! Since 1923, The Days of '98 show has stupefied and bedazzled audiences with the tale of Jefferson Randolph "Soapy" Smith, Alaska's most notorious outlaw. Soapy reigned over Skagway during the wildest days of the Klondike Gold Rush, and this colorful vaudevillian musical recounts his incredible life and dramatic demise! With can-can dancers, ragtime music, riotous humor, and the great con-man himself, Soapy Smith, this show is a treat for the whole family!

We went to this show because a relative once ran it many years ago. It reminded me of some old TV vaudeville shows that I saw as a kid in the 40's and 50's. It was mildly entertaining and probably worth the money compared to what else there is in town. My wife was chosen for the audience participation, so... More

We inadvertently stumbled across the Days of 98 Show while walking down Broadway Street. Folks in period costumes invited passerby’s to learn about Soapy Smith and the Klondike days. Since we arrived 10 minutes into the show, we were given a discount and told the performers would be so happy to see us. We entered the theater and were very... More

Please take the opportunity to see this show. We were there over a week ago on a Holland America cruise. We almost didn't get tickets but changed our minds at the last minute. So glad we decided to go. The show was so much fun and you are engaged from the start. The actors were professionals, and they sure made... More

The acting in this show was terrific, as was the dancing. The story is admittedly factionalized, but it does bring Soapy Smith to life as well as making the wildness of the place a little more real for the audience.

Maybe you too will be chosen to perform. Presents history in a hilarious skit including dancing girls and just outstanding fun. A must see for all visitors. Surely Soapy Smith wasn't THAT bad.

It started well, with a warm-up ragtime and recital of a comic tale, but went from bad to worse when so much of the show proper was spent on audience participation (and for Graham, Barb and Anna the most polite thing I can say is you were boring, and talentless with unaccountably large egos). The story is weak and the... More

Great show. Entertaining and funny. It broke up the monotony of shopping all day long. The cast was friendly and accommodating to us since we had an electric scooter with us as well.
