Certainly worth a stroll along this in-your-face tourist-centered place. Except for the upscale jewelry shops, which seem to be out of proportion in number to the more unusual craft shops, native art galleries, and taverns, this place offers some attractions even for the casual shopper....More

Too many jewellery stores for my liking. Was a nice short walk from the WR & Y train station back to the cruise liner but too many jewellery stores, all selling the same articles.

Skagway is not that hard to fall in love with. The charming little town surrounded by mountains topped with snow. Nothing can beat that. State and broadway street are the Main Street of Skagway. They are filled with interesting shops and restaurant.

Loved our day in Skagway... Lots of history, culture and tradition. We spent time gingerly walking through the stores, reading the plaques and sampling the local fare. We enjoyed stores like the old Radio Shack, a walk through of a store called "Corrington's", a fun...More

The preserved old buildings are charming. When we were there, three cruise ships had docked at once, so it almost seems like Disney with thousands of people walking around this quaint town. There is an abundance of jewelry and souvenir shops.

We strolled through town taking in the local color and historic value of the city. Some of the buildings are original and they also had some restored shacks where the ladies of the night practiced their business.
