Super friendly and accommodating. It was raining as it can often be at this time of year so I chose to do the easier walk instead of the hike for safety reasons. It was a good experience with our guide Joe sharing interesting facts and pointing out bald eagles and various fungi. The river float was enjoyable and safe.

We signed up for this trip with our adult kids and their spouses, since they are somewhat experienced hikers. We are not hikers, so were a little nervous. Overall, it was a great hike, although at times there was a slope not far away so we had to go slowly and be careful. I recommend bringing a hiking pole, which is offered at the beginning. The first part of the hike was harder, more up and down hills, with the second part more flat - so don't be too worried at first. After working and sweating on a hike, we had the payoff - a beautiful, peaceful, rafting trip on the Taiya River. The river flowed slowly and our tour guide steered us along with paddles. It was an amazing site and we had beautiful weather that day (July, 2019). Becca, our tour guide, was cheerful, informative, and helpful to all of us, regardless of our experience level. Although the hike was somewhat challenging to us non-hikers, we did it, and deserved the payoff of the beautiful float on the river!
