Loved the small island, it gave you a taste of living "off the grid". The staff was friendly and the crab bake was sooo much better than the cruise food. It was my husband's best part of the trip, and he has a hat he wears proudly.

We rushed from the train trip to catch the boat on time for our excurson to Burro Creek Lodge. There is first the boat ride. On the boat ride we learned that a former governor and lieuteant governor were in our smal group of people Cool When we arrived we were shown the grounds, given the oppotunity for a drink, and then taken on a tour to see the waterfall. This is so pretty. We were then shown the cabin on site and an opportunity for anothe beverage. After that, we went to a hydro power demonstration. This was neat. Then the crab lunch - super good. Filled ourselves.... and then dessert was offered outside with such things as make your own s'mores, nuts, brownie bites, etc. Burro Creek Lodge excursion is superb.

This was such a beautiful and amazing place to visit. The crab fest was to die for! And the brownie dessert left us speechless! We also did the short hike around the property, which was very peaceful and easy. I highly recommend this experience for a low key and amazing excursion.

Burro Creek is a great place to relax. We enjoyed a delicious crab boil on the shore, hiked up to the waterfall, and concluded our excursion with a glass of wine before boarding the boat back to Skagway. Very beautiful!

My husband and I were the only couple who signed on for this trip across the canal! Wow! There were over 2000 others on the island Princess who didn't see the value in this newest excursion. Even the tour folks don't promote it enough! The staff and owner of property know what it takes and they deliver..their REAL Alaska, beauty at your fingertips and a lifestyle few can respect or understand. Try it the next time you are near Skagway. Even the "locals" can find this diamond in the rough.
