Loved the small island, it gave you a taste of living "off the grid". The staff was friendly and the crab bake was sooo much better than the cruise food. It was my husband's best part of the trip, and he has a hat he wears proudly.

This was such a beautiful and amazing place to visit. The crab fest was to die for! And the brownie dessert left us speechless! We also did the short hike around the property, which was very peaceful and easy. I highly recommend this experience for a low key and amazing excursion.

Burro Creek is a great place to relax.
We enjoyed a delicious crab boil on the shore, hiked up to the waterfall, and concluded our excursion with a glass of wine before boarding the boat back to Skagway.
Very beautiful!

Fresh air, waterfall, crab boil and new friends. Burro Creek Lodge offers you a vacation on your vacation. Tiffany, Jason and Whitey provide an afternoon of complete relaxation, a 5 Star meal (including wine and beer) and an interesting way to live....off the grid. This lodge runs on a hydroelectric system and a wood stove to bake fresh biscuits. An Amazing waterfall and views (without the wind)of Skagway.
A must do while visiting Skagway!

This was a very special shore excursion and very different from the usual and typical shore excursions that you would go for. We did not know what to expect and did not read any reviews prior to booking or going but we were pleasantly surprised.
The lodge and surrounding areas were very beautiful and it was very relaxing, given that we had faced lots of people on board the cruise and had quite a couple of rushed excursions.
The hospitality from the people was great and we felt so welcomed. Of course not forgetting the food that was prepared for us, the dungeness crabs, home-made brownies (one of the best I’ve ever tasted - so moist, thick and gooey!) and smores.
A very unique experience and we would love to be back!

I experienced Burro Creek as part of my journey through Alaska on a cruise ship.
The excursion was exclusively arranged by Seabourn and it remains a highlight of my cruise to Alaska.
From the moment I experienced a warm and friendly welcome, the hosts were genuine and caring throughout the day. The crab feast was delicious and the magical ambience of the Lodge and surrounding gardens feels like no other place on earth.

Beauty and breathtaking best describes our experience at Burro Creek Lodge. While spending the day on land during our Holland America cruise, we selected the Exclusive Burro Creek Waterfall Retreat & Crab Feast excursion. BEST CHOICE EVER!! We were blown away by the level of hospitality and care given to us by the entire team. Cori, Jared and Jay-Dot are remarkable and truly serve with a spirit of excellence. The level of hospitality shown made us feel like celebrity VIPs, the property and waterfall are breathtaking and the crab feast was delicious. Simply put the entire experience was amazing. Thank you for being a wonderful part of our time in Skagway.

Visited as part of an extended family trip July 1. What an awesome, tucked away gem of a place to spend an Alaska day. Cori, Whitey and the team where fantastic, as friendly as you can get, hosts. Food was fantastic as were the grounds to hike, explore or just relax outside. Do yourself a favor and skip the cruise excursions and contact these folks for a visit. Perfect way to spend a morning or afternoon while visiting Skagway. -Brian T.

Another couple my husband and I were on Princess Cruises we booked this excursion through them. The hospitality was awesome thank you... Cori, Jared, Jay, and Jay Dot. The lodge was beautiful we were greeted with mimosas. We took a couple of small hikes to a waterfall if you didn't want to you had the choice of sitting by the fire. The waterfall was well worth the hike!! Heading back to the lodge we had our choice of ice cold beverage cooled in a creek. Jared the naturalist and one of the caretakers showed us how the lodge powered solely on water supplied by the creek. Cori along with the others prepared us an amazing meal of Dungeness crab/shrimp bake with warm biscuits while Jay Dot played the guitar. After dinner, we could sit by the fire make smores or roast marshmallows placed over brownies with all the fixings, walk the grounds, or play corn hole. As the afternoon ended we took a boat ride back across the bay to Skagway. What a wonderful day!!! Thank you, thank you!!

I was on a Princess Cruise and my husband, mother in law and myself booked the Burro Creek Excursion through them and it was the highlight of our Alaska cruise!
The food was amazing!!! Warm cheddar biscuits cooked in a wood stove, dungeness crab so sweet that you don't even need butter... YES PLEASE.
The grounds and the lodge were to gorgeous for words and the history of the place was very interesting, Jared the naturalist and one of the caretakers had the answers to everything and knows so much about the lodge and the terrain around it! .
They only take people over in small groups so you will never feel over crowded, ignored or rushed.
I cannot say enough nice things about this wonderful place and these wonderful people!

This sounds like a fantastic excursion and perhaps our only opportunity to eat dungeness crab. How much crab do we get with our meal?
Written July 26, 2019
Thank you for your inquiry. You get approximately 1 half of a crab as well as shrimp, andouille sausage, red potatoes, corn on the cob, wood stove baked sourdough bread, cheesy biscuits, your choice of beverages, including beer and wine, as well as a delicious dessert by the fire all served family style. Please let us know if you have anymore questions.

How long is boat trip to the lodge? My husband gets motion sick and not sure if this is the excursion for us.
Written May 2, 2019
It was approxiateky 15 minutes. The water was relatively calm and an easy ride.

My wife uses a walker(fold up) and moderate stairs with handrail are not a problem. Looks like on / off boat should not be a problem and the paths seem mild. Probably want go on hike, but does anyone see a problem for us? We both love crab feasts and have scheduled excursions before just to enjoy the crab feasts
Written February 23, 2019
Hello Bruce,
Thank you for the inquiry. The path up to the lodge is a bit rocky but we have had other guests using walkers successfully make it to the lodge and the waterfall. Once you get up to the lodge, your wife is welcome to relax and enjoy the view or continue with the naturalist up to the waterfall. We really try to cater the excursion to everyone's needs and abilities. When booking the excursion, please let the shore excursion manager know that your wife uses a walker so that they can inform the Burro Creek team. The guides are always willing to lend a sturdy hand too. Hope to see you there.

I am trying to book this thru the Burro Creek website but the Book Tour button takes you to the same page. I sent an email on June 3 with no answer yet and have tried to call with no answer. Could I get some help from the staff? Thanks
