We arrived via cruise ship in mid June to partly cloudy skies and a pleasantly warm day. Bekah warmly met us at the pier and made sure we had our tickets as well as our passports / enhanced drivers license as was required for this excursion. We then met the team for the day, Gabi, Clay, and Alex, and boarded a van bound for the summit which was the start of the adventure.

A short trip up the Klondike highway we were greeted with stunning views of mountains and canyons. Along the way our crew shared some great information about the area and some of the points of interest, no moore Moore Bridge anyone?

At the top of the summit, we got a safety brief and were offered water bottles, rain gear (not need at all on this incredibly lucky day,) gloves, and anything we needed.

I couldn't help but laugh with overwhelming delight as we cruised down the mountain on these awesome Trek mountain bikes. Clay led us down the mountain single file while Alex held up the caboose and made sure we were all together in a group. When a car approached they radioed to each other so we all knew when to move slightly over on the road to give cars more space to pass. In case anybody was unable to ride for whatever reason, we knew Gabi was in the van behind us to get us back to town if needed.

We stopped several times at scenic spots to take in the scenery. The staff was more than happy to snap a few photos, I appreciate Gabi's photography background as she perfectly framed a few photos for me taken on my camera.

The trip ended in town at their bike shop and we were given the option to stay in downtown Skagway or be shuttled back to the pier which was a pleasant surprise. On our entire vacation, no other cruise excursion ever gave us that awesome option.

As I am a larger guy, you will need to make sure your hands have some decent grip strength to feather the awesome disc brakes on these awesome bikes.

I would do this trip again and again, and if ever in the area for a longer duration I would love to explore the other day and multi day tours they offer!

We did a bicycling tour up through Dyea with Sockeye Cycling Company as part of a "Triple Adventure" they coordinated with another company to provide for us when we came to Skagway on a cruise. We didn't book through the liner which can come with risks, but Sockeye handled us so professionally and with such hospitality that we didn't even bat an eye at the details. Melodie was our driver and guide, and she is an absolute pro who clearly belongs in Alaska - she was full of knowledge despite being relatively new to the tour herself, she helped us get well-situated with bikes quickly, she had answers to our questions along the ride, knew the best places to go for pictures and even told us about things to look out for after we were done with her bike ride, and kept up a steady pace that got us places but didn't wear out anyone in our little group. She also coordinated pretty effortlessly with the reps from the other company to hand us off once Sockeye's portion of the triple-adventure was over. Absolutely no complaints about this tour whatsoever. They salvaged a day of canceled excursions for us in grand fashion, took us all over the beautiful countryside, and I wanna go back to Skagway again and do more of their adventures now! 10/10; borderline 11.

Wonderful experience with Sockeye Cycle Co. Our cruise messed up our tour, we contacted them and were able to get a new tour directly with Sockeye Cycle. They were very helpful and understanding with our situation. We did the tour and it was a beautiful experience riding through the rainforrest. Our tour guide Alex was the best. She made sure to explain in detail about the area, the plants that were native to Skagway and made it a very enjoyable tour. We highly recommend Sockeye Cycle.

Twelve cyclists, along with two guides, cycled the Golden Circle 355 mile route from Haines to Skagway. Sockeye Cycle offers this trip a few times a summer. I highly recommend it! We cycled seven days, of which four nights was tent camping. It's not for everyone but, for an intermediate cyclist that enjoys an adventure, a challenge and stunning scenery, I highly recommend it. Katie and Gina were amazing guides. All meals were included. Katie is an excellent cook and the most patient, loving person that makes you feel very welcome and comfortable.

BEST way experience Skagway! I rented a Trek hybrid bike for 3 hours. In that time I was able to ride 25 miles on full turbo assist mode all on a single charge! The bike was quick on the roads, handled the rough gravel roads perfectly, and had plenty of power to climb steep hills when using the bike gears correctly. The bikes they rent have front shocks and durable plus sized tires for a extremely comfortable ride. Nathan was very helpful showing people how to use the bike and provided an easy to read map of the best spots to visit. Will 100% go here next time I am in town and you should too!

We booked this tour through Princess. We took a van up the mountain and rode bikes down. Our guides, Alex and Havah were awesome. They clearly loved their job and made sure that everyone loved the adventure. They gave clear directions and safety tips.
Most of the trip was downhill. Even though I ride 5-10 miles a day at home, I had a rough time on the one uphill portion. I’m 60, not used to the elevation, and the winds were extremely high on the day of the tour so all of those combined made the uphill tough. The girls were good about stopping and one of them was always nearby.
I’d recommend this tour for anyone who loves to ride.

As part of our cruise with Lindblad/National Geographic, stopped at Haines and took a bike tour to Chilkoot Lake. This was not a long tour (roundtrip maybe 8 miles) but went along several bodies of water and along Chilkoot River and ending up at Chilkoot Lake. Easy ride (mostly level) and pretty scenery. We saw bears at Chilkoot river. Tour guides were were courteous and helpful.

We had a great time cycling down the mountain with Lydia and Joe. The cloud cover was thick and we appreciated that they kept a close eye on the group. In fact, the driver, Ian followed us until we were out of the clouds. They were all patient and it was clear that safety was the priority.

Charlie and Matt were great guides. Charlie gave a ton of history about Skagway on the way up the mountain in the van. After a thorough talk about bike safety and what to expect, we took a thrilling ride down the mountain. There were several stops along the way to catch our breath and learn more about the sights we were passing. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a unique way to tour the beautiful Skagway area.

We did this excursion while on a cruise. We are avid cyclists (although not "elite!). We were very impressed with Sockeye Cycle Co. We were walking about Skagway and happened upon them knowing we would be taking their excursion later in the day, and they were more than happy to chat with us. Dani & Leanne met us at the port and took our group of about 10 to the summit in their van with a trailer of their bikes (Trek Marlins). During the short ride to the summit, Leanne chatted with us giving us a history lesson and also briefed us on the ride down from the summit. It was stressed upon us the #1 priority for the group was safety.

We enjoyed the ride down from the summit to their shop in Skagway. As we traveled down from the summit, Leanne leading with Dani tailend Charlie to ensure safety and communication throughout the trip. Made it safely and without issue across the border from Canada. The entire trip was filled with beautiful scenery. We were graced with a beautiful day with a slight chill and a few snowflakes along the way. We would certainly do this trip again as we enjoyed the whole experience. My only recommendation for anyone considering this trip would be to at least jump on a bike to orient yourself to a bike in general before the excursion.

Great excursion with Sockeye Cycle Co and even better guides in Leanne and Dani who were great assets to our experience.
