Great visit with our 2 kids (10&12). They loved what the staff has worked out. We spent way longer then we thought, but it’s so much fun and interactive. Recently added for the kids - not to be missed!

We didn't realise that Balzac had such a vast output (91 novels! ) and such bad taste in wallpaper. We decided we must read Le Lys du Vallee when we get home as it is set in this part of France, but La Comedie Humaine...More

Thank you for your comment! Indeed, it takes several years to achieve the reading of The Human comedy... When you finish, you can start reading Balzac's others works (articles, theater plays, treaties, tales...)! :-)

Thank you really for this kind advice. The museum is indeed located in a very peaceful place... One can reach the village by car, by taxi, or bicycle from Azay-Le-Rideau (with it's train station) !

This Balzac museum is beautifully kept and feels like a lovely home. There are some exquisite touches for example the trompe-l'oeil wallpaper in the large living room , the lovely dining room and of course his bedroom which he just seems to have vacated.Really lovely.
