We love to hike. We love to hike in the shade when the temperatures go above 80. The trail we took here led us to a beautiful lake with a dam. We saw 100s of spider webs to and from.

We stopped here on the last night we were able to camp on our way north. The two plusses were the close proximity to the interstate and the adjoining national historical park. We were able to call ahead and reserve directly with the camp office...More

There are nature trails, a historical farm and a lake that you can boat on. We did it all and loved every minute of it. There is also a campground where you can stay the night and visit the National Park right next door.

No, the park does not allow paddleboards. The park does allow small watercraft, but with no motor. There is a fee for launching the watercraft, which can be paid at the Trading Post.

Swimming used to be allowed, however, now it is no longer allowed. We used to come here when I was a child and swim. They do allow boating and fishing.
