We were driving down from Arenal to San Ramon and didn't know what we were in for. Wow. The cloud forest is spectacular. I suggest you find it and drive through, stop and take pictures and enjoy being in the clouds. You won't regret it.

The journey getting there made the arrival even more magical. The GPS didn’t know how to get there, because I was searching and asking local for the name of the trail, not for the Hotel Villa Blanca. You have to go down 7 miles down...More

Our guide, Jairo, helped us to understand the unique nature of the Cloud Forest, and how microclimate is affected by minor changes outside of the cloud forest. The trails were well maintained and there was always an interesting view or bird or flower.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The tour guides were excellent. We had a number of options for visits but just stayed in the forest around Villa Blanco as we were staying at the other places visited on day trips later in our holiday.

From the drive in, through stunning countryside, we knew this place would be special. Roy guided us on a memorable hike. Then we enjoyed an outstanding dinner, followed by coffee by fireside. What a special place!
