We had a stunning kayaking adventure in Alaska with the Seward Wilderness Collective during the Summer of 2022. The experience was extremely memorable. During the first leg, we embarked on a lengthy sea kayaking trip to an Island that was made up almost exclusively of rain forest and a small stretch of rocky beach. During the second leg, we hiked through a truly exquisite series of trails through the rain forest, and had a picnic on the beach. For our third leg, we returned to our point of departure in Seward by kayak. The Seward Wilderness Collective organized this trip and carried it out flawlessly. Our guide was highly experienced and extremely friendly. I could not have asked for a more perfect experience.

Thanks for joining us, both for a SWC hike and a paddle with our sister company, Kayak Adventures Worldwide (KAW). We love getting folks out for a combination of activities that truly showcases the best of fjord country - where the mountains meet the sea! We appreciate you taking a moment to share your experience and recommendation with prospective guests. Come back soon! Best, Hannah, Owner

I took my two young adult sons on a long-awaited trip to Alaska and a hike with Claire from Seward Wilderness Collection was our most memorable experience! Claire actually read my sign up survey and knew what kind of experience I was hoping for. She was professional and kind and thoughtful. We hiked partially up Exit Glacier and saw some amazing views. The hike was the perfect difficulty level for us also. Seward Wilderness Collective is obviously a great company with knowledgeable guides. I would highly recommend SWC!

Wow, sounds like a perfect family trip. We agree that Claire is phenomenal, and I'm so happy you connected well with her. Taking a private, guided tour (rather than a big group tour) is often the difference between an experience tailored to your interests and adventure goals, and one where you're being forced to fit someone else's agenda. We love showing our backyard off to visitors in a meaningful and memorable way. We can't thank you enough for sharing about your experience here. With gratitude, Hannah, Owner

Enjoyed the time we spent hiking and kayaking with SWC folks as coordinators and guides. Great people. Good gear. Tight organizing.

We believe the details are the deal-breakers, so we take organization and logistics seriously! From training our staff to selecting our gear (and even our trip food), we put the guest experience first. We're so glad that we met your expectations and can't tell you how grateful we are for your words of support. All my best, Hannah, Owner

We booked a hike in the State Park and had an amazing guide take us through some beautiful scenery down to the coast. She was very informative but just a real nice person who you could tell enjoyed her job and was very good at it.

It's one thing to hear about the climate change impacts to Alaska and quite another to touch, smell, see, hear, and feel all of the interdependent parts of the ecosystem, how they rely on one another, and how they are rapidly changing. We're fortunate for all the public land around Seward, including state park, national forest, and national park, all of which provide an incredible playground and classroom for us! I'm glad your guide facilitated a meaningful experience, and hope you were inspired by your time with SWC. We so appreciate you taking a moment reflect on and write about your trip! With gratitude, Hannah

Our hike to Resurrection Bay with our guide Clair was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable of the surroundings and the eco system, I was blown away. She was also very kind and patient with us slow pokes on some of the up hill portions of the hike. I highly recommend Seward Wilderness Collective!

Your recommendation means a lot to us! We love sharing our favorite trails with visitors to Seward and teaching them about this area along the way. Our Resurrection Bay Half Day Hike does have some hills, but is overall an easy-to-moderate hike appropriate for hikers of all ages. The other reason we can tailor this trip to any adventure level is that we run all of our tours privately - so you never get grouped with other guests whose adventure goals (and pace) may differ from yours. I'm glad to hear that you learned a lot from Claire and enjoyed your day with SWC. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience here! Best, Hannah

We went on the Exit Glacier hike with Seward Collective and it was amazing, there local insights, perspectives and knowledge turned a normal hike into a deep connection and learning experience. Shout out to Guide Clare!

Claire is an incredible guide, storyteller, leader, and teacher - we're so lucky to have her as part of our team! I'm glad your SWC trip provided a deeper understanding of this place. One of the big reasons we run our trips as private tours rather than group tours is so we can really hone in on what our guests are interested / excited about, foster a personal connection with the landscapes we travel through, and provide a unique way of seeing Alaska through the lens of climate impacts. We believe in the power of outdoor experiences in changing the world. We appreciate you for joining us and hope you continue to feel inspired and motivated by your adventure! All the best, Hannah

We did the Resurrection Bay hike with our guide Claire. Claire was incredibly knowledgeable of the area, and we really enjoyed talking about the collective's mission and work with the community. The hike was really beautiful and loved the mix of being in the forest and by the bay. What drew us to this hike was their commitment to talking about climate change and creating awarenes of its impact in such a beautiful place like Seward. We'll definitely be booking more adventures with them when we go back.

Thanks for speaking to two of our goals at SWC: 1. Sharing stories of climate change impacts in Alaska and 2. Making sure tourism dollars benefit the community of Seward. We're looking for ways we can encourage the regenerative economy here, including our new bi-monthly summer Farmer's Market, sourcing our trip snacks locally (like our homemade granola bars from Bell Tower Bakery), and hopefully in the future providing local people and businesses with educational opportunities. We work hard to make sure our values are at the forefront of our communication, and we're so glad they resonated with you and your group. Thanks for sharing your experience here, we can't tell you how much it means to us! With gratitude, Hannah
