Alpenglow Charters is a gem in the state of Alaska. A friend and I started our Alaska adventure in Lake Clark photographing bears, after a wonderful week there, that would have been hard to beet ,we were amazed that we struck gold a second time in Alaska on the same trip. Kinsey the captain and owner is simply an amazing person. It is refreshing to an old baby boomer to find that the millennial generation has members that will insure that this world is in good hands. This young lady runs an amazing enterprise, learning about her family’s adventures as she was growing up and the adventure of her building (actually working on it herself) the boat the Gambler) and how she is also building her business. We spent two nights with her and her dad who was the 1st mate for our trip. The boat was very comfortable, we used the cabin in the bow which had two bunks on either side of the boat. The main cabin was the kitchen and dining area, Kinsey doubled as the cook and she did an excellent job to that as well as she did everything else. Our goal was to photograph animals that live in or make their living in the sea. Kinsey and her dad managed to find us all kinds of them, Puffins, Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, spawning salmon, all kinds of other birds. This was just a fantastic way to finish up our week in Alaska with the two days we spent on the Gambler and with Kinsey and her dad.

Our family of four (boys 12 and 9) loved our night in resurrection bay with Mackenzie and sister Izzy. One of our favorite memories from our Alaska trip! We enjoyed hiking the evening and morning of our trip. MacKenzie made the best salmon for dinner and then make blueberry pancakes from the berries we collected the night before. The beds were super cozy and we slept great rocked by the gentle waves. I would highly recommend aspen glow charters to anyone looking for an outside the box Alaskan adventure.

We loved the idea of going out into a remote part of Alaska accessible only by boat but the trip was made more special by our guides, Kenzie & Izzie. They took special care to make sure that the details were in order, greeted us with a cheese plate, expertly guided us out of the harbor and into Thumb cove then one took us out in a dingy and we got to hike in a part of the state that may have never before been touched by human feet. When we returned to the Gambler, a fresh salmon dinner was prepared. My husband and I highly recommend Alpenglow Charters.

Kenzie and her mom Marilynn were gracious, professional, super friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with our questions. Lunch was superb (good Alaskan home cooking) as was the ever-present beauty of Resurrection Bay. You CANNOT find a better or more enjoyable way to spend a few hours seeing Alaska than on the lunch charter with Kenzie and Alpenglow Charters!
