What a fantastic company and a fantastic experience! From initial contact to detailed trip planning to the trip itself, everything was top notch. I reached out to KAW to discuss options for a multiday trip. Hannah and Trent were so responsive, helpful, professional, and warm. We communicated by phone and email several times before the trip, and they always responded promptly and provided a lot of helpful details and information. They seem incredibly organized and on top of everything. We did a 3 day/2night kayaking trip in Aialik Bay and it was phenomenal beyond words. Claire was our guide and she is definitely one of our favorite humans ever. She is so lovely, knowledgeable, patient, skilled, and warm. She knew so much about the flora and fauna, the land and water (and glaciers!), as well as the history and culture of the area. Furthermore, her passion, respect, and deep caring for the environment is palpable and definitely inspiring (and contagious). It was very meaningful to spend these three days with her, and we can't wait to come back for another trip! She also got in touch with us before the trip by email to introduce herself and gave a great in-person orientation the evening before our expedition. We are so impressed by all the KAW processes and procedures...they seem like a very well-managed company. And all the staff we encountered were so friendly, helpful, and happy. It definitely seems like a great work environment with great leadership. Hannah and Trent shared that they arrange for several local experts (e.g. glaciologists) to come teach the guides. So cool! Thank you, KAW!! We can't thank you enough for this incredible experience and we can't wait to hopefully see you again soon! PS for some additional details about the trip itself: Aialik Bay was stunning. We loved the sequence that Claire planned for us. We started at Holgate glacier, then went to Pedersen, and then ended with the "rock star" glacier Aialik! It literally brought tears to my eyes. Seeing these glaciers (and so close) is truly a magical experience. Not to get too corny, but I am truly humbled by their greatness! I feel an even deeper commitment to do my part to fight climate change and encourage others to do their part. There was something so immediate and impactful about being so close to these glaciers and learning about the longitudinal climate patterns and growth/recession trends. It was also really special to see so much wildlife! We saw several bird species, sea otters, river otters, bears, puffins, a hump back whale, sea lions, harbor seals, bald eagles, and more. The boat ride to and from Aialik Bay with Louie was also wonderful. He took time to show us his favorite scenic spots and also to see lots of wildlife. All in all, this was such an incredible trip and definitely a highlight of our whole summer! Thank you, KAW!!

My favorite part was the glacier calving, it was incredible! Kayaking back on a different route was very nice, we kayaked next to some islands and saw some wildlife and small waterfalls Tips for future travels: wear extra layers, especially if you want to be at the front of the boat and water resistant gloves are a must

We planned a trip with gram (me), gramps and 12yr old grandson and 2 11yr old nephews. 4 hours, 8am as it was suggested that water was calm in the mornings. There had been a fairly good storm the night before out in the Gulf of Alaska and it rained the entire night before. None the less, we headed out to meet our guide. It is always a plus when your guide loves what they do because it really shows and the enthusiasm rubs off. Sid, our guide was knowledgeable about the bay, sea life, the ecology and our surroundings. Safety was stressed, the equipment was in excellent condition and Sid was very patient with the old and the young. We might not have gone as far as others, but a great time was had by all. Everyone enjoyed our little beaching for a snack and walk.
