The tour was awesome. The pictures are amazing. Just make sure to bring warm clothes. James was knowledgeable and had an answer for every question of our group.

One of the most amazing tours I’ve done! James is extremely knowledgeable and funny. The view felt like a dream. It was far away from anyone/all lights. Also, the photos he took of us were spectacular. It was worth every penny!

My husband and I had a great time viewing stars from Mauna Kea. The sky was so clear and the milky way was incredible. The photos are an amazing keepsake that we will cherish for a lifetime.

This was a huge highlight of our trip to Hawaii! Due to the weather and moon conditions we had to leave our hotel at 2:45 a.m. to meet up at 4:00 a.m. for the stargazing, but it was absolutely worth it! The stars are like nothing I've ever seen. And James is incredibly responsive, friendly, and a great teacher. We learned a ton about our galaxy and were really in awe. James is a photography expert and incredibly knowledgeable about astronomy. Ask him to show you pictures of his work with NASA on their practice space station that they set up in Hawaii. (Seriously!). Definitely bring along a warm hat and sweatshirt to stay warm and supplement the parka that he'll provide. We are going to print some huge frame copies of the photos that he took for us. The pictures that you can see in these reviews aren't doctored, but note that they do use a special camera technique that allows several seconds to absorb the maximum amount of even very faint starlight. So what you see with the naked eye isn't as brilliant as what shows up in the pictures. But it is still the clearest night sky of stars that you'll ever see in your life. There's literally few, if any, places on the planet that will give you a better view of the starry night sky.
