We did the 7pm night snorkeling Manta ray tour and saw so many Manta rays! Our crew was fantastic at helping people get out on to the water and stay calm. I would def recommend bringing a go pro or water proof phone case so you can get amazing pictures

We booked both the Kealakekua/Captain Cook snorkel tour and the manta ray night snorkeling with Hang Loose. Both were amazing!! Simon and his crews are fun, funny, and very knowledgeable. They make you feel safe and comfortable, no matter your skill level. You won’t regret booking with Hang Loose!

Had a wonderful time. Very happy we chose Hang Loose for our snorkel trip on the Big Island. The captain ( Simon) and crew member (Aiden) were knowledgeable, professional, entertaining, nice, and any other positive adjectives you can think of.
Would highly recommend this company and would use them again.

Admittedly we went out on a fairly windy day but it would make sense not to take people out who clearly aren’t healthy enough. Then the crew decided to leave the area where they usually see whales just because one person wasn’t feeling well. We finally saw a whale and the captain gunned the engine and sped away so he could get the person to calmer water. So 45 people didn’t see the whale so that one person felt better.

We are sorry you did not have a good experience. Please call us to rebook another whale tour. We cannot predict the sea sometimes and many times very healthy people get seasick as well. We just have to adapt to making all of our guests as comfortable as possible.

Ula and Jonah were amazing along with the captain! They made you feel safe, had tons of cool fun facts, and kept us entertained the entire time. I could not recommend this more!!

Remember to bring extra towels. One to dry off with and one to keep you warm on the way back!

I have to admit that I was scared to death to do this, but it turned out to be my favorite thing that we did. The thought of getting in deep water at night terrified me, but it wasn't bad at all. The boat takes you to a spot near a hotel that has blue lights that attract the plankton the mantas eat. You get into the water and swim to a platform with handles all around. You can see the bottom of the ocean, maybe 20 feet down? But the fact I could see the bottom helped me relax. You hold onto the handles and look down. The mantas will swim right up from the bottom towards you with their big mouths open scooping up the food, and then right when they get to you/the surface, they turn and go back down. It's awesome, and the guides were awesome and informative, too. Loved it!

This was our second snorkeling trip and we by far enjoyed this one much better. One thing I really liked is that it was a smaller group size. Jacob and Hunter were great professional, very knowledgeable and enjoyed having them as our crew. I would definitely recommend your tour.

We just finished the snorkeling trip to Captain Cook’s Bay. It was about an hour long boat trip from the dock to the bay. They provided lots of drinks and snacks along the way and always kept an eye out for whales and dolphins, stopping to give us a chance to take photos. The three staff members were all amazing and helpful. The snorkeling was absolutely beautiful, best I’ve ever seen. They provided a nice lunch when we were done snorkeling before heading back. Along the way back they stopped at some scenic and historic spots and gave entertaining stories. They allowed my eight year old to briefly steer the boat - made her day! All in all, a great experience for the whole family.

You get to see a beautiful sunset on your way out and giant mantas swim right up to you as they are attracted to the planktons that the light panel attracts. All the snorkelers hang onto this light panel so adults as well as kids can do this as you go into the water after the sun goes down. It is the most amazing experience! The only other place that I've snorkeled & seen mantas were in Bora Bora. I had an underwater camera and was able to capture it all on video!

This was a terrific whale watching experience. We saw many whales and an abundance of spinner dolphins. The dolphins jumped and spun all around us. Such fun to watch.
Crew was great, funny and polite.
