Son and I are certified divers. However, our only dives have been in quarries. We booked a 2-tank dive trip while visiting the Island of Hawaii. What a great experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The two dive masters, Cosmo and I can't remember his name (he is originally from Michigan and will be moving soon to New Orleans) were very patient with us. We had a great time and highly recommend this trip and Big Island Divers.

My daughter and I did the two tank manta dive. Big Island Divers made this the most incredible dive to date for me! My daughter was newly certified and she was blown away by the experience! Captain Alex and Dive Master Doug took great care of us and the other divers. They made sure we had all the gear we needed and did the hard work of setting it all up and switching tanks for us. Doug made sure to give thorough dive briefings. He explained the gear and the plan until my daughter felt comfortable and safe. The twilight dive was wonderful! We saw a field of garden eels, lots of fish and we even had a manta show up early near the end of our dive. Nothing like a safety stop with a manta in attendance! My daughter really wanted to see an octopus and Doug spotted one for us! Alex, our Captain helped us all up and out of the water and got everything ready for round two. We had a lovely surface interval enjoying fresh fruit, snacks and a fantastic sunset. Doug kept us busy learning about the mantas we would see during the next dive. We geared up and headed into the dark in search of the mantas. Doug was ever watchful over us as we had the experience of a lifetime. We settled into the sand at the bottom, the lights illuminating the water just in front of us alerting the mantas to come to the show. And then suddenly there they were! We had two of them circling in and out of the lights, one minute right above our heads and the next gone into the dark. Watching these beautiful animals was exhilarating and hypnotic at the same time! When they weren't in the spotlight we were able to spot little fish, a baby octopus and crabs just under the rocks by us that kept us entertained until the stars showed up again. all the while Doug was doing the hard stuff of making sure we didn't exceed our air or bottom time which would be easy to do because you never want to leave! I could have stayed there until I ran out of air and still felt I hadn't seen enough! When we surfaced, Alex was there with a helping hand and hot chocolate to warm us up after the final dive. My daughter was beyond thrilled and can't wait until we go back for more! She was loving the bumpy ride back to the boat dock so Captain Alex made sure to give us some more, jumping the boat over waves just to make her laugh. Thanks for the best dive ever, Doug and Alex! We will be back with Big Island Divers again!

Perfect scuba diving. We met Manta ray and other fish. Thank you so much Leana and Alex. Staffs are kind, professional and really helpful. Leana carefully keeps watching and lead all of us. I’d like to visit next time.
