Must see in Kona! The water was warm and clear. Of course it takes a little skill going down to the beach (may be difficult for the elderly) but definitely worth while.

Kua Bay is the best beach we have seen on the Island so far. Apparently the sand has just returned and it was quite busy. The waves were crashing but once you got past the break, the water was beautifully clear and calm. Reef fish were very close to the beach so easy to get to for any level of... More

Beautiful Beach! Spent the day watching for whales, watching Boogie Boarders and soaking up the sun and surf! Very clean facilities

One of my favorite colorful place to snorkel, but with caution. This bay is part of a long stretch of beach. Even though it is a small bay this is part of an open ocean, deep, so the tides, currents, waves, wind speeds everything can change quickly and unexpectedly. One time when I snorkeled the water was calm, clear, no... More

One of the best beaches on the big island. The beauty will take your breath away. You can see whales breaching in the ocean then turn around and see snow on Mauna Kea.

We found this to be one of the most stunning beaches on this side of the Island. The water is turquoise, the beach is soft, and the waves are big and beautiful! It's a fun place to play in the waves or boogie board, but be aware that the waves are VERY powerful. There are strong rip tides and surf... More

small beautiful beach with stunning water and big waves. The kids loved playing in the waves....very powerful though. You need to be very respectful of the undertow. It is a rocky walk down to the beach....best not done with flipflops. Definitely a must see if you are in the area

This beach is gorgeous, however, when we went, it was very rocky, sort of difficult to access. I also somehow got swept over to the left side of the beach, with strong current and a rip tide. Thankfully some friendly beach-goers helped me and my sister get out. Just be careful as there is no lifeguard and stay close to... More
