For me this is the best beach I have seen on Big Island and Maui. Crystal clear turquoise water and white send is perfect combination! Unfortunately, the beach is small and there is not much shade but its beauty compensates this!

Great spot for a dip and small wave body surfing. Would be fun with kids. Gorgeous clear aqua water. Sandy beach for sunbathing. Take beach chairs, towels and snacks. It is a state beach so they have an early gate. They provided a nice fresh water outside shower for all the sandy feet you don't want back in your car.

Kua Bay is a white sand beach with turquoise water. There is limited shade on the beach so bring a cover if you are sensitive to the light. The beach has a paved road and all the amenities you would expect of a beach park. Showers and bathrooms. If you enjoy body boarding show up around 2pm, but be aware... More

I did not know the name of this beach. We were only told how to get there and get there early. We got there around 11am and the parking was packed. Bring ALL your own stuff. Chairs, food, water. They do have restrooms. Beach is white sand and the colors of the water are beautiful. greens, blues. Lot of people... More

Spent a Sunday afternoon at Manini'owali Beach bodysurfing and gathering up some rays. Parking was little tough but the crowd was mellow and the water great. Can't miss ion this one!

Visited Kua Bay on May 14th. So beautiful. The turtles swim around the shallow rocks on the right side. You can see them clearly from the beach too. Snorkeling was OK and the depth of the water is just right for playing around. white sand, sealife, easy parking, bathrooms, just bring an umbrella if you want to stay awhile.

A dear dear friend told me it was the most beautiful beach on the island...he was right..."azure blue" water...sun is good from early am till a little after 1300... Sunsets are gorgeous from this spot....❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️...parking can be precarious but so worth it...

Heard great things, but it's a long drive, with little shade, and no sand. Perhaps my timing was off, but Magic Sands is WAAAY better, and closer.

Manini'owali Beach has sentimental value to our family but in general we love this small, unique beach along the west coast of the big island.

The word beach and fabulous in Hawaii always go in the same sentence but this one takes it up a notch. The most stunning turquoise waters, beautiful white sand and black rock formations make this a visual masterpiece. It has a great access road with bathroom facilities and showers. You do need to climb down the rocks onto the beach... More
