This is a nice beach, but there were so many people it was hard to enjoy. I can only imagine going on a summer day and how crowded it would be. We walked around for a few minutes then headed elsewhere.

This beach was beautiful, so it was understandably crowded. The parking wasn't great. We parked pretty far from the beach, but the walk was worth it. Can't wait to go back.

We went here in the middle of the week in mid November and it was pretty crowded. We were able to find a spot in the corner by some rocks. There were quite a few people in the water, some were snorkeling a ways out...More

It was a bit more crowded than Kukio Beach but no where near as crowded as most of the beaches in Southern California. We had no trouble parking. A spinner dolphin put on a show for everyone at the beach. We enjoyed walking on the...More

This is not a leisure beach. If you want the perfect spot to lay on super soft white sand get there early because it is mostly black rocks. Either way bring a boogie board! Perfect place to take kids (not too young) to enjoy some...More

Great place to snorkel even though on day we went the swell was up and made it a bit difficult a bit hard to find but worth it has a park next to it where you can spend day relaxing.

Be sure to stop at the lava tubes on the main road, just be careful, not for kids! Beach is awesome! Not crowded, great waves for bogie boarding, good snorkeling too but be careful of the swells if you go by the rocks As others...More

it's been a few months since I've been there so I don't remember perfectly. I *think* the access road does not close, so it is always open. if the road has a barrier, there wll be a sign and if so, pay attention to it... More

From Hwy 19 north of Kona airport, look for the sign "West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery". Instead of going inland to the cemetery, drive opposite towards the sea. From the parking at the end of the access road, it is only few... More
