We discovered this little gem of a beach the day before we left the Big Island. Great snorkelling, beautiful sand, not too crowded in the mornings.

Amazing beach with strong waves for boogie boarding but over crowded and difficult to walk to as there's no paved path to the beach.

About a 40 minute drive from where we stayed in Holualoa is this lovely beach. The turn off was not hard to find though on one side was a sign for a Veterans Cemetery which is larger than the sign for the beach. From the turn off we followed the road down to the beach parking area which was limited... More

Kua Bay is one of our favorite beaches and just a short 15 minute drive from Kailua-Kona. The water is the most beautiful turquoise and the sand is soft and white. Getting to the beach area is somewhat tricky as you can either walk down a very uneven path over lava rocks, walk down a sloped & broken cement "ramp"... More

Kua Bay is easy to get to but beware of a trip across 100 yds of lava to get to the beach. This beach can be calm one day and rolling with surf another. Check the weather before you go. It is a lovely white sand beach and we visit this beach every time we visit the Big Island which... More

The water here was the most amazing turquoise. It was so brilliant that the horizon looked purple! The beach itself is small, best to go early to avoid the most crowded times. There was a monk seal that came up on the beach to sun itself and plenty of fish to check out underwater.

This is our favorite beach and we visit every time we come to the Big Island. It's perfect for kids and families. The cove is a great and safe beach for children. There is a grassy and shades area to avoid the sun. Great snorkeling and you're bound to see giant sea turtles!

Beautiful light sand beach. It's not as big as I thought it was going to be. Mostly rocks. Smaller sandy area for lounging. Bathrooms, showers and parking. Very crowed on a weekday afternoon, you could reach out and touch your neighbor in the water. I don't mind crowds but my husband hates them so we didn't stay long.

What a beautiful beach amazing turquoise water incredibly soft sand, can't say enough good things about this beach. Nice waves for body surfing or boogie boarding. Gets a little crowded but worth it.
