Calm waters with lots of sea life and stunning beach. Definite Hidden Gem. The water is calm even when the rest of the ocean has high surf. The Keiki's love it!!

Beautiful sand among the volcanic rock north of the airport. We were stuck since there were no cars to rent so we Ubered to the beach for sunset. There is a food truck on site and washrooms up at the parking lot but no life...More

A beautiful beach with limited parking and strong undertow due to steepness of shore line where waves hit. Probably better on some days than others for less pull. We remembered this as a favorite beach from a visit years ago. Now, we have younger grandchildren...More

Had a great time! Would definitely recommend... waves were a little strong but all of our kids handled it well ( ages 12-17 ) I would certainly keep a close eye on the smaller kids.

This was my favorite beach in hawaii, we visited 8, but this was the best!! Bathrooms, picnic areas, showers, nice beach, clear water, no real waves. There were a couple of sea turtles that visited us that day.

I love to go to Kua Bay. It's like a mini Hapuna. It's a great beach with showers and clean bathrooms. It's a very beautiful beach.

Beautiful, smaller beach. Fun snorkeling and excellent food truck in the parking area! Bathrooms, sandy bottom. Lots of fun!

it's been a few months since I've been there so I don't remember perfectly. I *think* the access road does not close, so it is always open. if the road has a barrier, there wll be a sign and if so, pay attention to it... More

From Hwy 19 north of Kona airport, look for the sign "West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery". Instead of going inland to the cemetery, drive opposite towards the sea. From the parking at the end of the access road, it is only few... More
