The best place to charter a boat to go fishing, snorkeling, or other sea adventure. The fishing is right out of the harbor and the snorkeling is close by. You can catch a trophy fish or something for the grill. Be aware that most fishing boat captains keep the fish you catch unless you make other arrangements before booking. Try... More

Been here twice and both times I've seen between 10-15 sea turtles. It's a great location! A bit difficult to find the start of the trial but once you do it's easy and takes hardly any time to reach the beach. I saw a park ranger there the first time checking to make sure people stayed 20 feet away from... More

We visited a time share seminar (PAINFUL) but got a boat for free for 90 minutes. Interestingly my son started taking us into the area that we were told to avoid. High choppy waves almost threw us off the boat. Almost a remake of "Gilligan's Island" but we survived. LOL the fish are amazing when you snorkel off the boat... More

Our dive trips leave from this harbor. Easy to get to and much less congested than the town harbor. Road construction has caused some slow travel, but still better

On the ocean on either side of the entrance to the harbor are two different but nice beaches. Spinner dolphins often jump out of the water and can be seen here, and turtles like to hang out on the beach to the north of the harbor. If you're really lucky you might even see a Hawaiian Monk Seal or a tiger... More

Let's face it we come to visit this wonderful island, but for those of us who are boaters we just can't pack our boats. Wishing to be out on the water. This harbor offers a chance to look at many of the charter boats on the Big Island. Check out what has been hooked, if you are a fisherman or gal.... More

There is a state park here, but you park in the marina parking and walk out. Nice protected area for snorkeling and playing in the water. Shade too!

This small but very busy Harbor is home to Kona's Sportfishing & water activity fleet, where you can check out sleek sportfishers and many other vessels... Even if you're not nautically-oriented, there's a number of interesting features worth checking out -- e.g. green turtles & tropical fish swimming about, fish catches being weighed on official scales, an excellent eatery, and...
